Wow! I just realized I've been playing the game wrong the whole time after playing the tutorial. Initially, I was just pulling the ball of yarn around. Now I can use the dash effectively. Awesome job on the tutorial!

These are some good points. I agree that our game feels more like an aim trainer than it is a whack-a-mole. Adding the mallet effect, some screen shake and particle effects would definitely add a lot of juice and personality to the game. We'll definitely keep these thoughts in mind on our next game jam. Thank you very much for the feedback!

Great little game. The art looks adorable and the controls feels nice.

Nice game. The visuals are nice. The variations on the level were fun, and the challenge of getting the high score is addicting. I can't get the feel of using the dash efficiently though. I got better scores with just running around obstacles.

Nice small platformer. Aside from the controls being a bit too slippery, the game feels sped up for me. It might have to do with fps being uncapped and deltaTime not being used.

Cool concept. This has potential to be a fun and relaxing game for cat people. Like the other commenter said, the game is missing some background as to why the player have to travel to another dimension.

Really nice use of the limitation. The game is fun as well. Getting the gem back to the starting position got me caught 24 times.

I love the artstyle for this game. It feels like I'm playing a retro game, especially with the small screen size. Gameplay-wise, the mechanics are simple enough but effective. Awesome job!

Thank you! I really wanted to add some juice into it along with some sounds, but unfortunately I did not have enough time to implement them. I'll be putting them on as an update once the jam ends.

Love the concept of this! I got to serve all the right drinks after reading the manual. Eventually, I got tired of serving good drinks after 20 servings and tried to make bad drinks. The vampires don't die though from drinking it, unlike what the manual said. They just say they will get me for serving them a bad drink. Overall, I think it is an awesome game and could be developed into a greater one!

Great game! The writing is superb I like that you still added summarizations on dialogues that you were not able to write on due to the time constraint. Really awesome job, man!

This game is tough to beat. The concept is really cool though. It could be nice if there was a restart button when the player dies that will not lead back to the main menu, but will immediately restart the level. Nice job overall.

I love the concept of this game! The gameplay is tough, but enjoyable. I only wish the restart button would not trigger the intro dialogue anymore, since I have died a lot. Everything else looks well made, and I like that there's a lot of enemy variation.

Thank you for playing my game!

This is an awesome game! The art looks nice, and the intro scene was really cute and fun. The platforming is challenging because it requires precision, but I still had a lot of fun playing even though I died a LOT. The music and sounds were great as well and fit the game perfectly.
EDIT: And btw after finishing the last stage (avoid human at the bottom floor by staying as a bat on the ceiling), I only got a black screen. Not sure if there were supposed to be more levels.

This game reminded me a lot of Castlevania. I love that you added a story that made sense that fit well with the theme and limitation. I find the gameplay challening though. After killing the enemies at the first stage, I didn't know where to go next. Still, this is an impressive solo project. Nice job for making everything yourself!

Thanks for playing! Yup, there's a bug with the transition effect. The restart button is binded to the space bar by default, which I didn't know while making the game.

Thank you! I actually had a hard time thinking about what to make for this jam. The ideas pretty much only got developed along the way, and I'm glad it worked (though buggy). About the "sucking blood" mechanic, there is a bug which makes it a lot harder to do. I'll be fixing it once the jam ends.

Yeah. There's some issues with the "sucking" mechanic. I'll be updating it with the fixes after the jam ends. Thank for playing my game, and thanks for the 8-bit cookie!

Oh. That explains it. Really nice job still!

Confirmed. It ran using jdk 11. I didn't notice anything strange on it. I think it ran just as fine as the Windows version I tested out.

Thanks for telling me about C:DDA. It looks like a game I can get hooked on.

I just tried out the linux version. I'm getting this error. Does it only work for jdk 11?

Ooh, that was a close one! The pesants actually has a bug wherein it does not get detected by the vampire sometimes. Thanks for playing the game!

I can't push the white box all the way to the end of the hallway on the first stage, even with high blood level. It was a really cool concept though. I love the graphics of the vampire puffing blood.

The game looks really impressive for a game made from scratch in 3 days. Really nice job!  I also love the pixel art graphics you made, especially the one after you win the game.

Awesome game with a lot of content. Managing all the skills was a challenge especially when beating the bosses.

I ran your game using WINE since I'm on linux, but it still performed perfectly I think.

Thanks for trying my game out! I have actually managed to only beat the game twice, as of now. I guess no one has managed to beat it yet, since no one has reported yet that the "Restart" button at the end screen does not work.

Thanks for checking out my game! The spawning is actually random, but enemies will take longer to spawn than civilians. Their movement speed  will need an adjustment really though, as a lot of players have noticed it to be too fast.

Cool concept. This is a really unique take on the jam's limitation. The camera motion were smooth and the mechanics was easy to understand. I just think that maybe the ball should not be allowed to touch the blood at all, because I feel like I'm cheating whenver I just blast through the sea of blood, then being respawned somewhere close to the hole instead of following the grass path which would have taken significantly more hits.

This game is really awesome! Everything looks well polished for a jam game made in 3 days. The platforming and level design is superb! I also love the writing. Makes me want to kill the vampire in order to read all the lines.

It also ran perfectly using WINE (I'm on linux).

Took me a while to understand what was going on. This is a cool little game (and one that is made from scratch in  3 days, especially). I just wish there was a goal to finish the game (or maybe I just didn't saw it). I also like the L4D references with the boomer and spitter enemies.

I'm on linux, so I ran it using WINE. I'm not sure if it ran perfectly, and I'm curious if there's supposed to be music and sounds in the game.

Nice game. I like the smooth animations of the player character. Only took me a few tries to understand how to do high wall jumps. I just wish the flood was red to make it look more like blood.

Awesome game! The hand drawn art style is really nice, and I like the writing of the endings.

Thanks you!

Nice one! Thanks for playing the game.

Thank you fo the feedback.
I actually was not aware of the replay button bug. Thanks for reporting it!

Thank you! I'm glad you had fun

This is a really cool concept for the jam limitation. But honestly, I don't understand how to purify blood even after reading the instructions. It was still fun messing around with the devices
