Oh sorry for not replying soon, I didn't see this. But all CGs are done by Korichi! You can find him here: https://x.com/KorichiVal

I can look into it to see what I can do! I'm not the greatest with programming, especially the UI elements but I'll see what I can dig up!

All public updates happen when the next patreon update comes out. I've been on a long camping trip this month, so I haven't been able to work on it but I'll get back to work as soon as possible.

I took December off for Christmas, so I haven't charged the patrons for the end of the month that just passed and I'm planning on trying to get this build out this month, however, I do have a camping trip for a good chunk fo this month, so it might be a little shaky.

I'll fix this in the morning, though I'll likely have to use the patreon version I used before, which will be missing some editing and Selwyn's clothes being added but I'd rather the build be functional.

I'll fix it in the morning, I'll likely just have to use the patreon build, which is unfortunate since it won't include Selwyn's new sprite.

Sorry, I haven't gotten around to coding that in. It's a pretty low priority sadly and my workload has been pretty large, so I haven't been able to integrate it yet. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can add it.

The upcoming public build will be an Oscar build

There's a current bug in Lucas' route that happened when I changed the code that's forcing people into the bad ending. I'll fix it during the next public build release.

I would argue that while Lucas is sensitive, he is emotionally distant from others. He cares but he struggles to empathize with people and sometimes doesn't understand the weight of what he says. He's also a person who is very vulnerable to stress and often lashes out because of it. A big part of Lucas' character is that he doesn't actively seek help. In his route, Wallace is basically forced to be the proactive one in order to push Lucas into a safer environment for him both mentally and emotionally. You're definitely correct on his self-esteem though, he's dealing with some intense self-loathing and often regards himself as below those he deems as good people like Aure and Wallace.

That is essentially what's happening. In Leigh's route; you'll learn about Mercy, In Oscar's; you learn about Quinn and Conrad, and in Lucas' route; you learn about Helena and her family.

Leigh's route was the latest updated. Lucas was just updated on patreon and this month's update is going to be strange, likely a smaller one to compensate for the amount of behind the scenes planning I'm doing.

I do agree about a lot of the previous stuff not being filler. Some of it has been setting up characterization and dynamics. You can afford more filler early on in your story so the reader can get used to the characters.

But even then, there are still some that could have been snipped down. We didn't entirely need to have.

For example, I don't really consider much of the latest Leigh build as filler. Maybe some of the dialogue with Charlie but most of that build's scenes served a purpose.

However, some scenes like Lucas explaining the book he's reading in an earlier scene of his route really didn't need to be there to that degree. We could have simply learned the basics of the book to infer that Lucas prefers reading stories for escapism.

My mentality about filler is scenes that don't serve a purpose. Even if a fun scene might be nice to read, if it doesn't serve a purpose it's cuttable. However, that scene might still be included because it serves a purpose tonally or for pacing reasons.

The main romantic beats will still be hit as their character arcs progress. It just won't have a bunch of romantic scenarios to give the viewers fanservice.

I've updated the file; can you tell me if it's fixed?

It's coming out as I speak!

The sprite hasn't been finished yet! It's been sketched up, but our sprite artist has been a little too busy to finish it lately. It'll hopefully be done soon!

Wallace: 5'4"
Leigh: 6'
Oscar: 6'8"
Lucas: 5'2" (He looks taller than Wallace due to his ears)
Lily: 4'10"

Charlie: 5'3"
Selwyn: 5'7"
Aure: 6'5"-6'8" (he's around Oscar's height)

They're in the about page. It's not exactly the most cleaned up or efficient but it'll have to do until I can get a proper programmer to fit up the sub-menus.

I probably shouldn't say this but the answer to your first question is... yes!

The number of chapters hasn't been realized. I know where the story is going but I'm willing to let it flow and add more if I feel its needed.

He's a Weasel!

There's only one route per character, there will be a bad ending near the middle of their route but that won't split off into an entire route. Lucas' route is the furthest route so far, having a couple more updates than the others.

All future updates unless stated otherwise will be focusing on Lucas until he's finished. There will be the occasional build for Leigh and Oscar but for now, we're focusing on getting him done and dusted.

That initial metal song for the first nightmare sequence was the first piece of music I added to the project. As soon as I heard it, I knew the exact scene it was going to be for.

I'll hopefully get around to doing that once I get someone more fluent in programming. I'm not entirely sure how to handle this in an adequate way that wouldn't end up messing things up.

What's exactly the issue? Is the route just ending or is the game not opening?

I've made a post about this. I've changed the build 9 android file and uploaded an alternate download link for a previous version of the android build. Try those and let me know if it works!

If the problem is still persisting in my discord, I'll post something on itch about uploading the previous patreon build version.

I've had some people who it works for and others who don't. I'm considering releasing the older patreon android file with the typo fixes for those who can't get the new build to work.

There will be kind of neutral endings where you don't end up with that route character but also nothing really significant happens. They're closer to bad endings but nothing truly bad actually happens in them, so...
But if you're meaning a general neutral ending, unfortunately not.

Thank you so much for your insight! I'm really glad you've been enjoying it so far and that each character has appealed to you. I hope we're able to keep it consistently satisfying.

Sorry for the late reply! The text going so low is due to your screen size. I'll get some mobile players to give some feedback and I might adjust the amount of text during Lucas' day 3. As for the Lucas quote, it is an intentionally incorrect wording to sound more natural to how people talk.

Wallace is a weasel!

Depends really. I'll put it up to a patreon vote at a later time, for now there isn't any in it yet but I'm not opposed to potentially adding it in the future.

Eventually! This will likely have to wait till I can hire a separate programmer for this kinda thing. My knowledge is very basic and I also would need to get the assets for the other two routes as well.

I'm really glad you enjoyed Wallace's perspective. I really wanted to make his internal monologue and personality shine through as this is just as much his story as the rest of the boys. I hope we've able to keep you satisfied throughout this VN's journey.

I'm really glad you've enjoyed it so far! Your kind words are very much appreciated and I'm really glad you like Lucas so much! We've all been working really hard to make this project work, so I hope we can meet your expectations going forward.

It's fine! It'll be available as a public build later this month!
