Hi so I just released the hot fix for this. It seems godot 4 has an inconsistent crashing problem when games are built in release mode. I spent all morning trying to fix this but couldn't. So I'm just going to keep building the game in debug mode till godot gets a handle on this. The game should run fine now you will just see (DEBUG) next to the name of the game in the window. I'm sorry about this ahead of time.

Oh I also added loading screens lol

hi thanks for letting me know I thought it was just my laptop  messing up when I was testing the game. when I tested it in engine I didn't get any errors. I'll look into it again this morning and see if I can get a hot fix going.

Also no this is in no way the full version of the game i plan on adding a lot of updates over time. This is a in development project.

hi sorry about the confusion I just wanted to be upfront that the full project won't be free. What I'm going to do is continue to update the game for free on itch.io till I add the 6th boss in. Then I'm going to make the version with the 6th boss cost $3 and the version with 5 bosses will be a free playable demo and will always be free to download. When I add the 6th boss in I'm going to upload the game to steam and charge $3 for it and sell steam keys on itch.io here for the same price. Due to steams terms and services I have to charge the same amount for the keys on all sites if I didn't have to do this then I would leave the game for free on itch.io. Now that iv typed this out though I think I might just continue to update the demo as well. so you can play it for free through the demo or choose to support me by buying a steam key.

Hi sorry about the inconvenience. When you buy a gane on itch.io the developer is given acess to the email attached to your itch.io acctount. Its for updates and staying in contact with with your audience. At the very bottom of the email sent there is a link wherr you can unsubscribe to any future updates. I am sorry again about the inconvenience but the game is free.  I'm not asking you to buy anything at all I was just trying to bring to your attention another fun project I was working on.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to play skills and slimes and I hope you had fun. I would like to make the graphics better over time the game is still in development. But they can only be as good as I am an artist. I practice almost every day and I get better all the time. Hopefully one day I'll be good enough for you to edit this review. until then thank you again so much!

it might be the best way to get ahold of me is by contacting the email provided.

Go to the download page for the game here on itch and at the bottom of the page there is a button that says claim steam key. It should display the key on the page copy the key. After that you redeem the key on steam and enjoy the game.

Thanks so much I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I love watching your videos and I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of my games! If your going to play them that is lol.

The game looked really good and played really well. I liked the idea of switching between a light a dark world with your flashlight. Good Job!

thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Rebel elf mode is one of my favorites to.

I really liked everything about this game the idea is great taking over someone else's game and fighting the creator is a cool concept. The chat dialog was funny. The controls were tight and the different physics modes were fun. It reminded me a lot of if Kirby met super meat boy. I played it to completion and only missed one coin. 10/10 guy nice job.

The dialog was fun. I don't know if it was my computer or if it was a bug in the game. but like everything except switching modes stopped working for me. I couldnt shoot put up my shield or anything. Again, not sure what caused this just thought I would bring it to your attention. Overall though fun game I liked the art to. Good Job!

Would be an interesting control set up for a top-down survival horror game. I liked the art style. My only compliant is that the game is stupid hard because of how slow you turn.

I really liked the visuals and the music was pretty chill.

A lot of fun. No notes. All the different mode were fun and the gameplay idea of being forced between all of them was an original spin on a top-down shooter. I played for longer than I thought I was going to and am probably going to play some more. Also, the sound effects were some of my favorite parts.

I liked the game overall definitely an original idea. I liked your main menu. I've always been a fan of menus and credits that you play. I could see this being a fun party game. The only thing I would change about it is I would make the text bigger for when people are talking. I almost didn't find it at first. Other than that great game!

Fun game. I played for a while the only reason I stopped was because I couldnt tell when I was getting hit. Good job!

Oh ya rebel elf mode is what that one was called. I really liked that one to. It feels like your really sticking it to the man when you put a kid that's supposed to be on the naughty list on the nice list lol.

Thank you so much for playing! Im glad to hear you enjoyed the game! What was your favorite game mode?

I'm going to look into the text issue after the jam is over. If you dont play in fullscreen it's a little easier to read. For some reason the text doesn't scale up correctly when you resize the window. I'm glad you enjoyed the game though! Thank you so much for playing.

I'm so glad you played enough to learn some of the "pro strats" you have no idea I really didnt think my game would get this much engagement. Your almost there the story ends at day 25. I'm glad your enjoying the story if you make it to the end let me know what you think of the story as a whole.

I'm super glad you enjoyed the game! Your comment alone made the sleepless nights worth it! Like I've said in comments below I'm going to fix the difficulty after the jam so the story can be fully enjoyed. Not sure how far you got but trust me it gets wild. I thought about having a ticket come up like in papers please letting you know what was wrong but in all honesty I couldn't figure out how to get it to work in time. I should have made like a sound effect go off to at least let the player know they got it wrong but I didn't think about that till it was to late.

ya that makes the text blurry. I really don't know why I'm going to look into it more soon.

Thanks for playing! Im glad you enjoyed it. Honestly getting the text in a readable state was the hardest part of making this. Every font i used was pretty much unreadable because of so much text being in a little space. Did you resize the game window? Because i know the text also gets blury when you resize the game window. I was gonna look into fixing the issue after the jam. For some reason it doesn't rescale correctly.

Also thank you for giving the game a play. I do hope you had fun with it despite the difficulty.

got you. Ya I can see how that could get frustrating. If you decide to give it another go the story starts to really ramp up after day 5. That's the only incentive I can give right now. When I play tested it I made sure you could beat the story so I know it's not impossible,  but I made the darn thing so that's not fair. I should have had someone else play test it to but hindsight 20/30 lol.

what's the farthest day you got to? if you don't mind me asking.

Fair point. I mostly made it that way so it would give the player a reason to want to do more then their daily goal. Without money to buy upgrades and a family to support like in papers please there's really nothing stopping you from just hitting your goal and then sitting there and  waiting for the day to end. Not an excuse just the reasoning behind why I made it that way. After the jams over I'll probably overhaul the game and make it so if you get 3 cases correct in a row you'll get a fault back. Then I'll also add a shop and money to incentive the player more.

The whole game should be fish mode.

Gonna be 100% with you I tried to fix that and got frustrated with it and didn't think I would have enough time. I'm going to look more into it and mess around with it in one of my future releases or maybe in a patch to this game. If I had had it my way this game would have scaled up when you resize the window and would have had a full screen mode.

Thank you! I really appricate you taking the time and giving my game a play! I've always liked credit screens that you play and i thought it was an excellent fit into my game. Im glad you liked the different game modes it was hard coming up with 7 of them. Let me know somthing about the game you would change im always up for hearing criticism and improving.

Thank you for taking the time to play my game and alao taking the time to leave a comment . I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
