Hi Jonathan! Sorry for the slow reply I was out over the weekend. I'm afraid I'd struggle to complete any custom work  at the moment. Running the site is consuming an ever increasing amount of time, and until I can complete the on-site editor I won't be able to give you my full attention. things might be different by around april.  Do you have a project page or trello or similar detailing the amount of work?
Thanks and regards

Robert

Hi,

Sorry, but I don't have the time to go through all the assets to add offers just for a few days.

If you follow me on my site most new releases have a half price flash offer, if that helps.

Hey Leigh! Thanks very much! I'm not sure if I uploaded them to itch but I have some on my site: https://www.gamedeveloperstudio.com/search.php?searchterm=santa

I
f you have trouble getting them let me know.
Kind regards-Rob

That may be so, But price isn't decided by what a sprite is, it's decided by how much time it takes to create.  If I have to invest 15 hours in creating a character and 15 hours in creating a dice the price will be exactly the same. You may think that a character is more complicated but tweening software is used for characters, a dice animation requires each frame to be hand so it actually ends up taking more time.  Further more it's not just eight pngs. it's an animation, an editable gds file with free access to gds editor program, pngs for each  result, SVG,s  and of course a license that will let you use it in your commercial project without any further royalties.  How many people do you think there are in the world that need an animated dice? I have to wait years to get return on investment at this price.

You know that it takes more time to hand draw a dice animation than to create a 3d dice and animate it with a 3d engine  right?

Ok, I did a test to see what 15% of original size represents in real world pixels. I took the frame sizes 0f 867px by 694 and reduced it to 15% of that size. This makes a sprite  just 72 pixels high.  At 72 pixels high this is precisely what you would expect.  I think with the heavy amount of reduction you applied it turned out rather well considering.

You won't ever be able to reduce an image by so much and maintain it's original resolution  it doesn;t matter what program you use. If you reduce an image to 72 pixels  you get precisely 72 pixels of information.  All the original information of the high resolution format has to be striped out and turned into a representation in just 72 pixels. Imagine if we reduce it to a 10px by 10 px image? It would be impossible, you  just couldn't build a detailed representation of this sprite in 10x10 pixels.

I think you either need to find the lowest possible limit to get the resolution you want, perhaps 30% or if it's essential to render sprites so  small then perhaps look into a pure pixel art route.

Hi Fun for all, Yes, I supply all my sprites larger than what is normally used for games.  People use them for cartoon animations not just games so it's important that there is a decent amount of resolution in them.   It's easy to downscale a large image but it's impossible to upscale without quality loss so I try to place size somewhere in between.

Normally when downscaling you shouldn't lose quality. Have you checked the compression settings on your downscaling, what are the final pixel dimensions from a 15 percent downscale.?  if you're trying to create a sprite that's 32 pixels by 32 pixels I'm afraid you may have to go with pixels art sprites. That being said this sprite is vector art so you should maintain a decent amount of quality either which way you resize.

Are you downscaling the frames or are you using the included spriter file to reexport or resize the rigged puppet? If you're using Spriter make sure you have  image smoothing switched on.

I made a tool on my site to batch reduce lots of images. You can stuff all the frames into that and it will output the originals without compression.

Thank you! I'm so happy to hear that you found GDS plus helpful!

Wow, thank you very much. I am really happy to hear that! I can't wait to share some of the improvements I'm making with you!

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

The fly comes on spritesheets,  each frame is approximately 900 by 700 pixels.  You will most likely have to reduce it.

Fantastic! I am very glad to hear that! Thanks to you

Hi riley11, there's only one potato in the pack. the red and white are the same just with a different skin. What Are you looking for.  Pm me on my discord if you need further help I don't connect as much as I would like on itch.

Noo the lifts get erractic after four three! Man this is a solid game!!

This looks absolutely stunning!!  and plays really smoothly! good job , it's extremely hard too.  aiming for floor four!!! Am I bad?

Yeah, Of course. You can modify assets.

yeah, of course! The license should be included in the download.

是的
Shì de , yes

Ha! That's exactly what I say to my landlord every month.  You know this isn't a game don't you? this is a licensable piece of art work.  The price is for a license which will let you use this sprite in a commercial product that you wish to publish.

Aweeom! Thanks you

Oh Sorry man! Is the license not in the folder? Proprietary license- use in commercial and non-commercial - no redistribution o resale outside the scope of your project.  You can check out the full license on my site. www.gamedeveloperstudio.com/license.php

I'll look into reuploading the folder with the download.

You are welcome!

oh Man, most likely months. the main theme for the upcoming assets over the next month is certainly going to be food but for the moneht I'm working on platformer style food theme. food worlds and food characters. After that I'll be working on kitchen interiors, both in the house and commercial kitchens. then I'll be working on burger and pizza packs. so quite a way off still.

Hi guilemus, The assets included in the pack are exactly the ones you see on the image.

small medi kit
medium medi kit
large medi kit
medicine pot
first aid box
syringe
antidote test tube
stim pack.

other assets in the pack are just colour variations of these base items

Kind regards

Robert

Thanks Guilemus, I'll be sure to let you know. I have a burger and pizza packs planned for the future. My partner Olga has a pizza pack on her profile https://olgas-lab.itch.io/pizza-game-asset-pack

Sorry for the delay Cleve, I'm on holiday at the moment. That's actually another great suggestion, Some just normal proportioned characters would be brilliant for the site, Could you add them to the suggestions list? I will accept them for sure, I can't say how long it would take me to come up with them, I still have to finish the food pack, the egyptian pack  and the magic pack first, But some characters like that would definitely be a great addition to the site, and useful too!

Thank you very much Cleve! And thanks for your purchase, I hope you do find a good use for both the box and the safe. I had a suggestion on the site suggestion board for more of these types of things, for an escape puzzle game, I think I'll be doing it soon!

hi Danger, yeah course you can use them in your game that’s what I made them for. Good luck!

ahh sorry for the late reply. I need to check if the license is in the file, the license is commercial use you can find it on my site if it’s not in the download file. Gamedeveloperstudio.com

download the file, to a place on your hardrive, right click - > extract all.. or extract

Yeah sure you can! Good luck. Don;t forget I have  lot more assets on my site https://www.gamedeveloperstudio.com

Thanks for the heads up!

Another awesome animal! great work!

Oh Wow, Olga this is Fantastic!

wow this is amazing Olga!

No sordy this is only 100% top down, I haven't started making orthographic assets yet.

Thanks Game2DOM very much I have already made most of the things you mention, They should be available on itch or from my site  www.gamedeveloperstudio.com check them out!

I love them Olga. Great work

wonderful , I love it!

Hi rafman, thanks for your comment, I just released some zombie characters  over on my site. I've definitely got more biomes coming too , I'm just stuck on deciding whether to do things in orthographic view or 100% top down view.

Thank you! Glad you found it!
