I let players roll whenever they rest in comfort and safety. Once they roll high, they often stick where they are :)

I like the randomness… I mean, some days we wake up feeling like crap for no reason ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Others we feel great! That kinda thing.

No worries… this was the hardest part for me to verbalize. Let’s say you’re level 2. Build your dice pool:

  1. you’re level 2 so you get 2 d6s
  2. is there a healer in your party? If so, add another d6
  3. are you in a sacred place? If so, another d6
  4. ROLL ’EM! and keep the highest 2 (your level)

Solid work, sir. Hex descriptions have juice; are easy to read and evoke images and ideas. I would prefer the dungeons be inline with the rest of the hex descriptions but that is my taste. I enjoyed the “Delius and Castielle” rings. That’s a nice, simple puzzle. Keep it up!

I LOVE this project. Personally, I don’t like/am not inspired by other available hex tools. I want an evocative map with hexing lightly displayed. Great work!

Some thoughts:

  1. yeah, kill the legend text; but the numbering is nice
  2. needs a way to stitch multiple regions together… perhaps just a simple region prefix? Eg. 0101 could become A101? Like different regions can be the letter?
  3. I WANT THAT SAVE FEATURE… but you’re on this
  4. obviously, adding elements to the map… but I can also do this with a SVG editor… even an online one… maybe :D
  5. I’m not always sure what each hex icon means. Would be great to post that somewhere. Eg. grasslands vs swamp, etc…

Nope, all classes have the same base damage. Damage increases on certain levels (eg. 1d6 to 2d6 at 5th level; magic users 2d6 lvl to 3d6 lvl). Weapons and skills can modify damage too. So yes, 1d6 for light weapons (that can also re-roll damage if used as a secondary weapon (two handed fighting)) plus mods like Backstab.
