hahaha very creative!! 🦜

good job!

very cool! loved the atmosphere and message. 🥹

awesome entry!!

hey, really liked your game!! cute art and cool level layout.
Had a lot of fun playing it and controlling the cute puffer fish. 🐡
You made a great job making this game feel like a classic retro with the "secret" optional buttons, felt good to unlock those and get extra lifes.

feedback:

  • the game, as it is, is a bit hard. it is kinda hard to grasp the controls of the puffer fish. it has acceleration, you have to inflate with momentum and it also has a kinda large cooldown. this "kind of hard" make players feel unskilled 😥. my suggestion is to simply buff puffer. make him easier to control, make him accelerate faster. I would also make him completely invincible during super size mode but making inflated mode last only about 1 second (it has a cooldown, so it would be fine).
  • try to avoid demanding players to inflate at the right time, people (like myself ) are usually terrible at timing. here is the thing, youve got a great design decision with the buttons. they are kinda hard, but optional. this makes them feel very good to conquer.  reward players that inflate at the right time with a "perfect parry" prompt or something like this. things like this make you feel super pro 😎
  • if you can, always try to blend UI info in your design. you can make puffer change colors to show how much hp he has and make his cheeks full to show that he is ready to inflate. you can also make the cooldown bar appear above his head and do not show it if the cooldown is full. this way we players can focus in your amazing art.
  • always treat players as kids lol. make it unbelievably informative. make big red letters showing us what to do. info like: "jellyfish wont die just avoid it"; "buttons arent mandatory"; "try to reflect the boss bubbles to kill him", etc.
  • nitpicking, but make him inflate smoothly (it can be fast, but gradual). this can also avoid bugs like getting stuck on walls.

sorry for the big text, dont get me wrong, I LOVED your game and think your design is amazing!

congrats on your entry!! 🙂👍🏼

yeah, I also remember youve made a shooter game on dice thats swaps weapons as he rolls, good stuff.
I see youre still making good games =)
glad that you enjoyed our entry!

wow an unreal engine game!

cool implementation and interpretation of theme!

good entry! congrats! :)

thanks a lot!! glad you liked it! =)

sorry for the headache lol I messed out the music volume 😅

(1 edit)

LOLLL! this was fun, your game is awesome! I am very impressed!

on the art/presentation/music is godlike-tier! incredible stuff!

the gameplay itself is very polished, the recoil physics! *chefs kiss

my only suggestion: as others have pointed out, it lacks a bit of "spice" on the gameplay loop. i know it is jam but it would be nice to expand on this great ideia. custom ammo? upgrades? turrets?  maybe to and po can drop the gun, move freely in the map and grab an uzi?

great job Cubox! 🐀👍🏼

this is really a extraordinary game, loved it!!

had a lot of fun and felt like a hacker hehe this game has a lot of potential!!

very charming graphics and dialogue system! music is also fitting!

feedback:

  • make the controls even simpler, maybe make your pieces always visible (in the UI) and hover mouse on a equipment to interact with it.  in this version i have to do a bit of work to use them.
  • the restart button takes me to the very start of the game :( noooo
  • once the player get a grasp of the game, make more diverse objects appear, even if they are useless in the puzzle. by now it is a bit linear for a puzzle game (for my taste).

congrats!! this is one of the best games ive seen in the jam 🙂👍🏼

thank you very much 🐧

thanks!! glad you liked it :)

haha loved it!! very clever quiz game
I always wanted a game like this. it is always impressive to put big things into perspective :)
needs an expert mode: how many toothbrushs to neptune lol

lovely experience!!!

one of the best entries Ive seen in the jam. very enjoyable experience!!
loved every aspect of it. the sfx, the freedom, ui, gameplay. congrats!!

here are some suggestions (nitpicking):

  • the gameplay is rather simple (in a very good way) but it is hard to explain in words. you should encourage the player to test the gameplay by itself with inputs (like "hold the 1 key and see what happens") in a easier first level
  • make the "music" start automatically when the player presses any music key.
  • make more levels >=(     hehe just joking. it is a jam after all

again, congrats on this great game!!

It is a jam after all, time is not an abundant resource.
You shouldnt feel sad at all since youve made a marvelous job on the short timeframe. 🙂👍🏼

gosh that felt weird and enjoyable at the same time lol
VERY creative, i love it!
this feels like a warioware minigame to me hehe

hardcore music and sfx! would legit play this with friends at a saturday night! very impressive! loved the 2d textures

suggestion: do not spawn zombies close to a player. if you do, make sure to sinalize it as a dangerous area (like a grave or a hole).

congrats on this great entry!!

thank you very much!! =)

thanks a lot!!! I am happy that you had a great time! Hope she likes it =)

LOL thanks! glad you felt badass >=)

thank you very much for this!! glad you had a good time :)

Loved the concept! It makes sense that the larger the canvas, the harder it becomes to defend. Be careful with balancing; never reduce cooldowns by a fixed amount (e.g., -0.1 sec) because it can exponentially increase the power. Great game!

"Hey Bob, hows family? Listen man, we've decided to downsize... starting with your job so we can upgrade the office coffee machine."
