I would argue that people who blaze through it without reading are not your target audience in the first place. It's a game where the primary mechanic is reading.

Loved the return of Beb and fellow deities who I met in Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor. I wonder if I will find them again, and where next?

Good to rule that out.

I am slightly concerned I may have the wrong version of the game, and that may be what is causing the problem, because while the zip is labeled version 1.05, the folder inside the zip is labeled version 1.04.

(1 edit)

I made a video of how I got to this point... sort of. I didn't meet the kid again, but the nurse and maid still disappeared, so that's a thing. Here's everything I did, with timestamps and notes in the video description.

Edit: Also, I noticed that you made some updates to correct spelling errors. Is proofreading for spelling something you would be interested in?

I'm having some trouble... I found the movie watcher, the dancer, the detective, the competing actress, the billiard-player, the very shy lady, the maid, and the nurse... and I was still in the middle of helping the maid and the nurse when I found a kid. It played two cutscenes in that room, changing it to a state where the chandelier was up again, and now even after I've helped the kid the nurse and the maid are just gone. Is that supposed to happen? If it helps, I could try to get a video of what I do that leads up to that outcome.

Yeah, I am playing in browser. I had to reload the game every time it happened, because when I can't click to pair the socks, I can't get to the end game screen or anything. Very weird and only happened when I made lots of mistakes.

Sometimes socks become unclickable and then I'm unable to pair them or progress in the game. I think this happens when I make too many wrong choices?

Late to the conversation, but it seems to me that every civilization you pick is a mashup of several real-world cultures, not just one. For example, the Gaikokuan civilization seems to have English elements as well as Japanese ones. The stuff about big cats may not be relevant to France, but it might very well be relevant to another culture in the mashup.

Neat. I'm preparing a couple more videos and I'll have them out to you soon.

1. I've started including videos of my playthroughs in my bug reports with timestamped notes, does that actually help or no?

2. For testing purposes, are there supposed to be conversation options that both lower your health and lower their lock at the same time? If that's not supposed to happen, I can try to scout out all of them.

I have played through the whole game and reported about 5 bugs. Hope it helps. I tried to catch some of the weirder ones on video but I wasn't sure how to reproduce most of them. I may try again later.

When you say this game is in Beta, what does that mean for this project? Does that mean that most or all of the content is there and you're just working out bugs? Does it mean you have some number of chapters completed but not an ending? If the story isn't complete, around when do you estimate it might be?
