so.... I like the game but I am confused about some things.

first off, the .zip that I downloaded (the update from 2 days ago) says it's password protected but I could not figure out what the password is or find it anywhere. First I was trying to do everything on the steam deck but it was only extracting a portion of the .zip due to the password problem. I decided to extract on my PC and test there first. Same thing happened with 7zip -says there is a password and doesn't extract everything... but it extracted all but a few files so I said screw it and started testing anyway. didn't experience any problems or crashes on PC so started transferring it to the steam deck via google drive. When I tried to download it on to the deck from google drive it stated one of the files contained a virus (I believe in was the ...demo.dll file) - since that file said demo I just didn't download it and the game seems to be running fine without it and the other missing files (so far). I pass a lot of files through google drive and have not once been told something contained a virus before this, so I am extra confused about that.

so that was a frustrating and timely process but I am able to look past it because the game is working, it's early access, and I'm sure this was not intentional.

now what I am confused about with the game is... how has there been this much content added, but no camera control or pause menu? I would think, if you are intending to have those features in the final version wouldn't those be things you add in early on? are you not intending to have camera control? and a pause menu would be awesome for quick exiting levels/the game and obviously accessing settings if you add those.

otherwise I really like the game so far. I am just really hesitant to play much further cause I would much rather play it with camera control if it's possible that you will be adding it soon... or at some point.

also last thing I am confused about: what exactly is the banjo kazooie type gameplay you referred to in regards to the game mode you added? I am just wondering cause I can't tell so far but maybe I am just not far enough into the game

Hello Sweetjeeb,

I hope you're doing well. First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your purchase and your support for the game. I truly value your feedback and the opportunity to address your concerns.

I'm sorry to hear that you encountered difficulties while attempting to unzip the game. It's puzzling that a password prompt appeared during the extraction process, as I didn't intentionally implement any such restriction. I've also had another user report a similar issue, which makes it even more perplexing.

Regarding the absence of camera control and a pause menu, you're absolutely correct. This game was originally designed for mobile platforms and is currently undergoing a conversion to be compatible with PC. Unfortunately, the initial design lacked the necessary inputs and buttons to support camera rotation or a pause menu. I'd like to assure you that both of these features, along with audio options, save data modifications, and more, are on the agenda for the upcoming update. I haven't made concrete plans for a rotatable camera yet, but I've designed all the levels (except level 4) in a way that shouldn't necessitate camera rotation at this point.

I'm genuinely surprised to hear about the virus warning you received. I want to emphasize that I have no intentions of creating anything malicious on the side and bundling it with the game. I'm committed to delivering a positive and enjoyable gaming experience.

The Banjo Kazooie-inspired elements, particularly the collectibles affecting the world maps and the forthcoming addition of characters for cosmetics and missions, are integral to the game's vision. I'm working diligently to bring these elements to life.

As a sole developer, I invest countless hours each day into enhancing the game, and some improvements can be achieved relatively quickly, while others require more time and care. At this very moment, I'm actively working on the pause menu. If you're interested in staying up-to-date with the development process, I encourage you to join our Discord community. I regularly share detailed progress updates there, often multiple times a day. Just today, I made updates to the time attack UI, implemented a counting timer for the "Rolling Up" stage, and, as mentioned earlier, I'm currently focused on the Pause Menu.

Once again, I want to express my deep appreciation for your support and understanding. Rest assured that the game is entirely completable without the need for camera adjustments, as it was initially tailored for mobile devices. However, as we transition to PC, we are diligently working on optimizing and adapting all aspects of the game.

For more frequent and real-time updates on the game's progress, you can find the Discord link here (valid for 7 days): [https://discord.gg/CgYT7Dmq].

Thank you once more for your support, and please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or feedback. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of the game.

Warm regards,

[Seano4D]

Hello once again,

I'm pleased to inform you that I've just uploaded a new version of the game. In this update, I've made some minor tweaks to the UI, but most importantly, I've addressed the password issue. I've now established a password for the file, which is "SEANO4D," to prevent any further problems related to passwords. Please note that this particular update does not include the pause menu, but rest assured, it's a priority for the very next update.

Your feedback has been immensely valuable, and I want to express my gratitude for bringing these matters to my attention. If you have any more questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Thank you once again,

Seano4D

thank you for being so quick to respond. I realize my comment mainly sounded like a bunch of criticism but it wasn't meant to be that way. I really do enjoy the core gameplay. I'm extremely happy that indie developers like you are helping keep the industry lively while bigger studios blatantly disregard their fan base and pump out low quality games with microtransactions just to fatten their pockets.

I guess the camera control thing is more just to enhance the experience, cause what I have played so far it hasn't been an issue and its definitely playable without a rotatable camera - but I can just imagine how much smoother the gameplay would be with it. Also I play a lot of 3d platformers and I'm so used to being able to move the camera around it just feels like a strong itch that I can't scratch while playing. Lol

Thank you for addressing the password issue and adding a menu so quickly - also I can see you're really passionate about this project and working on it a lot, so that's awesome to see. Still got my fingers crossed for camera control sometime soonish... even if that's months from now

months from now..

I have better news than that!

If youre playing on the Xbox one controller there is now a 360 degree camera Rotation implemented in the "Rolling up" stage as well as on the Overworlds now,

We also have a Rudimentry Pause menu too (all are WIP) but I hope this solves some frustration for you - by making the pause menu I found and Fixed a big bug too so thanks for making me look into it last night.

I did take a poll whilst developing on stream today and the overwhelming majority of people didnt want camera Rotation on the main levels themselves however I will add this into the options to either have or not have,

it was a tricky implementing it so late into the game but we got there today as well as the Pause menu Implemented last night, the latest copy has both in now

360 Rotatable Camera Is in and it was thanks to your enquiry SweetJeeb
i have yet to make an announcement about it as its not 100% how I would like it but I think you'll find on the "Rolling Up" level in particular you'll be quite pleased,
the player also moves in the direction the camera is facing (that was the hard part)

Thank you for your review its something I take seriously for everyone! :) hope you enjoy the new mechanics on the levels that need it most
except level 4 (thats going in the trash ;))

also It seems 7zip and Windows Extractor all seem to act Funky with the Unzipping, I used WinRar to Zip up and have no issues unzipping the download using Winrar, sorry if thats inconveniant for you, Ive set a password on the file too

Password: SEANO4D

I hope you Enjoy!
