wait, game maker? that would explain why the owner of the game would not update the game any more. because today version of game maker is the dumb sub payment system

Actually, it was abandon years before the subscription model happened in 2014 and was created in the ancient GameMaker 8.1. Redux is using GameMaker Studio 1.4, as I got it on sale and was never interested in GameMaker Studio 2.

man game maker 8.1 reminded me of my post-high school days when the worst thing to worry about was the encomny going to the dogs.

but man I hated then game maker become a subscription services just put a price tag for me to buy it out right!

At least with Unity (my current main engine) they only charge you if your rich. But the completely free and open source Godot is looking better and better to me each day. 🙂

the only down side of godot is not as easy to use as game maker, I just wish they make a new VSL they anyone can use

Oh boy. These comments about GameMaker and Unity's payment schemes aged well...😅

For once in my life, being slow was actually helpful. Ha! Because GameMaker ain't seem so bad now, and Godot and/or custom engines are kind of looking very attractive to me now...

unity is run by the old CEO and got fire (but something tell me its the whole board) that ruin a good thing unity going and I fear gamemaker will be next on that list.

Totally agree! Mine and most other's faith in any engine company has been shattered thanks to Unity. So I'll be using and supporting open source engines as much as possible now, which is ultimately a good thing. Thanks for your sacrifice, Unity. 😜

So I'll be sticking with GameMaker Studio 1 for now (as it's an abandon product with no connected services) and only ever use Studio 2 if I want to release on console.

thats just life livign in a corpo run world, but they made the mistake that makers are not as dumb as consumers
