I'm a 13yo aspiring coder do you have any reccommendations to start coding other than scratch.com?

(1 edit) ( 2)

I'm 13 yr old as well, I can give you suggestions based on two IFs:-

1. If you want to learn to code for the sake of game development then I suggest you start with GDevlop(a  non-coding game engine) before learning any programming language because then you would know how game code works and what you really need to do when you get the hang of any programming language.

2. If you want to learn to code for the sake of just learning a programming language, then I'd suggest you start with python because it's lightweight, has a syntax similar to that of English and really easy.

Bro thanks, those are available on chromebook right? My mother bought me a chromebook but rn i'm just using scratch.

Yo i just checked it out because school takes so long, apparently you can use gdev in browser, afterschool i'll experiment with it

GDevelop in the browser does not have some small features which can come in handy sometimes, otherwise, it's good

Yo btw are you a pixel artist? If so you want to help me with a game i'm planning?

Yes I am a pixel artist but I can't really work on projects now cuz there's not much time left for me nowadays due to school :(

Same man but we could try game jamming on summer i'll practice my gdevelop.

I also use chormebook but i develop games in Construct 3 (because in GDevelop i cant import sprites) and the code is similar to GDevelop and it has behaviors to help you programing. (you dont need to use any codes or lenguages)

Does construct 3 require downloads, because I cannot work Linux to save my life.

No, it dont requires any dowlands because u can use it on browser
