I would really love to find out the real reason Augustine let Winnie fall down the stairs that Winter. Like... What was the real reason???

it was kind of explained during that same conversation. Augustine thought that the entire time winnie was trying to sabotage him and steal everything. He was jealous of him and his success, and thought that this was all whilst later planning to abandon him. Whilst he would never have pushed him down the stairs, he didn't want to help him either bc in his mind it was kind of 'karma?' for taking everything. But later he realised that was just him being selfish and winnie didnt deserve that. Hence in the end when he has that broken leg and hes a lot worse off than winnie after the accident he says he deserves it.
