The visuals and music are very appealing. I'm looking around in the comment section and I hear there is a secret ending? I never got to it though, it's really hard to get 0 coins. But the game idea was interesting and the movement was smooth. Amazing game!
Really great concept, and the music enemy design is super endearing. It's pretty hard to get 0 coins though, never made it :(
Yeah, it's tricky, let if you still haven't beaten it yet let me know, I just fixed a game breaking bug dealing with the 2nd last room in the game.
Great idea and art, loving the game, still trying to complete it with 0 coins though
If you're having trouble trying to figure out how to get the secret ending, please let me know.
great idea and art! plz rate mine
good game i liked the idea that there is more than one ending to this, is ee you played with the wining and loosing if i collect all the coin do i loose or i win? or if i refused tyo collect any coin do i win or lose what will happen ! that what were in my mind there and i like that.
However i never manage to not collect any coin or to collect all coins it's hard man :)
liked the music here and the visuals as well it gave me Atari-ish vibe
also i see that it's made using GameMakerStudio i have love -hate relationship with that Game Engine, i started to explore game development with it and also i lost all my project once because of it :)
also i gave you a solid 5 star on Wawieeeeeeeeeeee
A lot of people seem to think there is an ending if you collect all the coins... there isn't one. Maybe I should have made that more clear.
There is an ending if you skip all the coins. I didn't really intend for it to be hard, I just didn't want it to be immediately obvious.
Sorry you've had a negative experience with Game Maker before, it has been good to me these past ten years.
you can do the two ending i think it will be good as will
like if you collect all the coins that kink(thief) kill you and took all the money from you or something like that.
but even if it's one ending it's still good game.
BUG:
If you have a resolution higher than 900 x1440, you can ignore this message.
This game was built on a 1080 by 1920 monitor, other resolutions were not tested.
In order to get the secret ending, there is a certain room in the game where you need to use an enemy projectile to hurt yourself and use the invincibility frames to get further, but if your screen resolution is lower than 1440px, than you can't access it.
This is because the games windows size is based on your screen resolution and enemy projectiles only appear when they are in view. (I know... dumb programming idea.) But, if your resolution IS 1440px, then you can get the enemy bullet to spawn by just grazing the player against the coins in the middle of the room.
The room is the 2nd last room in the game.
The only work around for this is to change your screen resolution temporarily. I'll probably fix it in an update.
A cute and surprisingly well polished game :) Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any of the endings (since I suppose there are endings for when you collect all coins and for when you don't collect any coins at all by how they're positioned and by how the characters talk, if I guessed right it means you managed to communicate that in a very subtle yet concrete way, congrats), in my opinion it's a little bit too challenging lol. Great submission despite that :D
Thanks for playing. It's difficult to make a game where you give subtle hints on what to do, and finding the right balance in difficulty is tricky as well. I didn't want it to be too easy but I didn't want it to be frustrating as well.
Well you still did a great job giving hints to the player without making them feel stupid or excessive hand holding :D

Cool game! Collecting the coins is really satisfying.
Did you get the secret ending?
No. I think i'll try to though.
Wow! It's a challenging game, especially getting the true ending with having to think outside the box, but I really enjoyed it - definitely more than a simple platformer! The gameplay was nice and smooth, although some more feedback when moving and jumping would've been useful, especially when you were going above the level. The art was pretty nice too, although I think there was too much dithering on the trees and mountains - maybe it's less noticeable on lower resolutions though. It would've been interesting if there was another ending if you managed to get all of the coins too - although there might've been, since I think I missed a few anyways.
Thank you very much. I wasn't sure if a lot of people would get the secret ending but that makes me happy knowing that you did.
I never did pixel art before this game jam before, so I was kind of new to it even though I was an art major and was hard pressed for time.
There is no other ending where you get all the coins, just more corporate greed.
Wow, I didn't think I would finish it but damn! It was very fun!
Some puzzles were intuitive but still challenging (Like the i-frame one)
I definitely think this one is a great take on the topic! It will most definitely be featured in the video, or at least I hope... It sure deserves it!
Great submission, Mine isn't even complete lol.
Thank goodness I was hoping someone would fine the true ending.
I just want to say this, when I make ANY game, I am always careful to respect the players intelligence, and I am hoping that when you guys play it that you are smart enough to know that there is more to this game than it being a simple platformer. This game DOES fit the jam's theme in a way, and I hope I gave just enough information to warrant a 2nd playthrough.
