Wow where do I start, from the second I moved this cute player I thought I would be doing this adventure along side him until the first jump sent him splattering on the ground, I was horrified. it was now clear that he was just a puppet in my control. speaking of controls, they were fantastic and the mechanics made the game feel complete. from the climbing gloves lowering me ever so slightly, to the diving helmet giving me a magical supply of oxygen. And the spider webs with their fun but limited controls. the teleporter tool was useful but forgettable and of cause we cant forget about the measuring tool the MVP. overall this game is pretty much ready for a release in my eyes, with a little longer level it should be good to go. on the topic of level design it felt professionally crafted with so many cool tricks to navigate this complex world. its safe to say I'm a fan.

Probably the best game I’ve played in this jam. Really cool that you used your own engine

Really liked how the mechanics built off of eachother, finding the secret signs, the tape measure is such a nice touch, tons of content. Some sections made me feel really smart

For feedback, sometimes the wall grabs were unreliable, and jumping out of water felt clunky. I also ran into the startup bug a few times but you did address that in your description. Sometimes there was a waterfall but I wish there was a mute button because I wanted to be able to tab out and come back to it

This must be one of the best games of the jam!
There's nothing I didn't like about it, even the underwater section wasn't that bad.
I don't understand the secret messages, but I did notice that the last messages contents change sometimes.
Even if there was no secret ending, the game would still be great!

The color palette takes the pixel art from good to great. A bit more polish and this would be even better. Would like an option to run, the underwater sections are particularly slow. Really like the whole mysterious vibe. Extra technical implementation points for using your own engine.

This was very fun. Keep it up!

I think the water section is the worst, if I would redo anything I would cut that out, it's not interesting from a mechanical standpoint and slows you down a lot.

Adding running would change the jump mechanics too much, I had to balance walking speed vs jump distance.  I didn't want that to be too high and become more like super-meatboy and celeste.

Solid entry, the minimalistic graphics and limited palette give the game a nice look, the music sets up the perfect athmosphere, the controls are very responsive and the juice SFX are the cherry on top of the cake. Only thing I missed was controller support. Good job!

Developer

But, there should be controller support (I didn't test it to be honest, but I did setup keybindings for standard xbox type controllers)

Amazing game. One of the best for sure. Lots of cool mechanics and challenging jumps. The last part with the "Don't stop" sign was difficult and a bit annoying since you can't throw strings once you are on or below the death line, but managed to get through after many attempts. I also somehow managed to decypher all the encoded signs and saw the counting stuff but still have no clue how to get through the secret ending =D If it is about playing again and reaching the end quickly or a precise thing like that then yeah I will probably never get it. I really enjoyed the game though and decyphering all that stuff was lots of fun. Excellent work!

The secret ending doesn't require you to restart or anything crazy like that.

Oh nice! Then I will definitely play it again later and try to put the pieces together since I am probably already half the way there.

So so very good. I loved it and played for as long as I was able. I loved swinging and the level design was perfection. Chefs Kiss. So very well done. I wanted to say nice things and it was incredibly easy to do so. My fav so far. Great work. KUDOS

I thought the game was just the air plane going down in the beginning XD. Glad I stayed. Clean execution and is very addictive. My type of art style. Very nice!

Insane amount of content for a jam !

Great job !

A fun game. Too hard for me to beat right now, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Didn't see, how the theme applied and doesn't look like there's any diversifiers, but everything else is top notch.

Developer( 1)

I explained on the page description that how I tried to add the theme didn't work out, so scrapped that part, but still wanted to finish the game.

The difficulty does ramp up after a bit, that was intentional. I don't expect everyone to reach the end. As for diversifiers, also explained on the page, didn't use any (they where not required, just like the theme is semi-optional) but I did use my own diversifiers in the art. 13x13 pixels and only 4 color EGA palette.

Submitted

Oh, I'm sorry about that weird comment. I liked the game a lot. I don't know, why I mentioned diversifiers at all. I gave you high score. The game looks very complete, polished and fun. I'm sorry.

Adding the line turns falling into a clever mechanic. Really enjoyed the simplistic art. Unfortunately, I could not figure out the way to solve the secret. Great entry overall!

I love platformer metroidvanias so this was right up my alley. Great 1bit graphics and the fall damage mechanic is very well done. Great submission!

very Relaxing

This was a nice game with overall solid graphic and gameplay. in any other platformer i wouldve hated the idea of fall damage, but you managed to take that idea and turn it into something enjoyable. Great game

I really like this game. I love the minimalist graphics and the soundtrack and sound effect work fantastically with this game.

My only gripe is with the Web Swing power up. It was super finicky for me. It would work perfectly some times and other times, I would be doing the same thing and the web didn't stick to the celling. I wanted to finish the game but I couldn't consistently make that power up work.

Really great work. This game is great and I would absolutely play more of it.

Developer

About the web swing, is it the part where you need to swing, fall, swing? The web doesn't work below the fall line, which is something I've seen other people struggle with to grasph. Or is there something else? Other people reported the web power to be finicky, but I haven't been able to nail down exactly what the issue is.

Is is clear that you can only grab the "moss" bits right? Or maybe that is unclear?

Submitted

It was the section right after getting the swing.  I wasn't anywhere near the fail line, I was just struggling to get back over the gap. It was not very clear that you could only grab the moss bits.

Just a thought, maybe you could add a menu or something where you can review your powerups and their descriptions and/or controls?

Very nice! I love the metroidvania genre, and this was very fun.
