This was an excellent entry and a blast to play. I like that you found a way to incorporate the requirement in couple different ways and the reward for taking damage made it worth taking the hit, but forced me to play that much more diligently.
I loved the art, music and sound design. I do think the bosses should have a health bar so I can feel my progress through the run. I also noticed two small things. On the first boss, when the four mouths open and shoot bullets out, it's almost like origin point was off, so it didn't really look like it was coming out of the bosses mouths, so it broke the immersion a little bit.
The power ups felt very rewarding to use, but there was one run between the first and second boss, where the powerups didn't display, and then the select text stayed up during my entire fight:
Overall, a great entry. Three awesome boss fights and a clever way to use the requirement in multiple ways. I really liked this one. Good job, team!
this game... had me.. on the edge of my seat ;) alot of fun! played it on stream! just wow! great effects! you two make the dream team
Most polished game I've played so far. Just what I expected from a game from the amazing dream team, Space and Clone! Good job you guys and I can't wait to see what you two make next.
The audiovisual experience is amazing, the music keeps me pumped and the visuals are straight up gorgeous. I have some gripes though. The tutorial doesn't have to be a wall of text, you could've kept just the controls, "the less hp the more powerful you are" and "press space to start", everything else is just unecessary information. Also I noticed most of the patterns (which there weren't that many of) could be dodged by just continously going in a circle. Furthermore, it would be nice if you kept the upgrades after dying - death is punishing as is, no need to make it even more punishing :P
But that's just nitpicking, I love the game and had a blast, good job!
Nice game! Really like the background visuals. The music was also realty good, it helped give each boss its own unique identity. Really loved the concept of the game as well where you get stronger when you're "on the edge." I feel like this is a really good interpretation of the theme since it makes the central aspect of the game. Would have really wanted to see the health remaining on the boss but still had a blast playing the game! Great job to you guys!
I couldn't finish the game the first time, cuz the first thing I did was finding a bug lol. I picked explosive things upgrade, and the second boss just stopped attacking, and taking damage after I took down his shields lol.
I'll try the game again now
Ah okay, if you want to share any thoughts after playing feel free!
really liked this game the art was really good and the music really fit the game and the mechanics are well done aswell good job overalll
Thanks for playing Akuna. And thanks for the kind comments!
The visuals here were so good, haven't played another game that looked quite like it. As others have said, it was quite hypnotizing and it also felt a bit 3D to me, like the colours were popping off the screen. Music was also great and had a lot of fun playing. Would help to have more feedback when shooting the bosses, I wasn't sure if I was damaging them at first. A health bar would also help. I also came to a point in the game where there was no more enemies, waited a couple of minutes and nothing happened?
Overall, fantastic job guys!
Thanks for playing! Yeah we were really aiming for a hypnotic feel, glad you could see that. We’re considering doing a post jam with a health meter as we completely agree with you. That last bit must’ve been a bug. Thanks again!
Hello Sid Fish, appreciate all the kind comments. The art on the blackhole was actually all done by accident. I knew I wanted some pieces overlapping and rotating, I just kept throwing visual effects on them until I achieved what you see.
As SpaceSpy said that last bit is a bug and its one I don't think we never encountered. But thank you for letting us know. We will look into it.
That looked good, but did you try to hyptonize me 🤔?
You should consider displaying the boss health !
That was fun, good job !
Yes, you are hypnotized and you are now under our control. Go make more video games. I bet it work :D
You are correct about the boss health bar. We will be adding it post jam.
A great entry, I found my self being mesmerised by the graphics and I just enjoyed looking at it and the controls were straight forward. This was fun.
Thanks!
Thanks MechaStreisand!
The art is really really amazing for this. Also great polish on the aesthetics.
I would maybe add an indicator for boss health/or when you hit because sometimes I wasn't sure when I hit or not. Also the controls sometimes felt a bit laggy to me but my laptop may also just suck at running this game.
Over all though this was a great jam entry. Great job!
Thanks! Yeah a boss health meter would be a great addition, thanks for playing!
Game is amazing! The background art is incredible and the music just makes the game so much fun to play. I have to say that third boss was just a bit unforgiving, though I did eventually beat him on my 4th or 5th try because I got lucky with a big spinny attack that went on for a long time and I was able to sneak into a good spot. Great job!
Thank you! Yeah we went a little too far on the boss difficulty, thanks for sharing your thoughts and for playing.
Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Sorry that the 3rd bass gave you a hard time. Believe it or not, that was after i cut it's original difficulty in half. Thanks for the play and the rate!
Rated! You know my thoughts :)
Thank you !
I love the game! :D
Thanks for checking it out !
You’re welcome Clone!
