- ABOUT -

Velox Fabula (or "Quick Story") is a ranked jam about making a complete visual novel in 10 days based on a community-determined theme.  Take a look at some submissions from last year's jam!

This jam is heavily inspired by Ludum Dare, a global game jam about making a game from scratch based on a certain theme in a short amount of time. We highly encourage participants in this jam to check out that jam as well!

- THEME -

The theme is revealed at the start of the jam. Voting will be held across several rounds in the week leading up to the jam starting. Until then, you can submit theme ideas here.  Good theme ideas should be ones that are broad and allow for narrative creativity. Hosts may discard certain themes if we feel they are too limiting/inappropriate, but this is rare.

Previous themes in the Velox Fabula series will not be permitted. Previous themes:

  • Unreliable Narrator
  • Morally Ambiguous Promise
  • Enemies with Benefits
  • Flower Symbolism
  • Doomed by the Narrative
  • Trapped with Someone
  • Forbidden Romance

- VOTING -

Voting will be held for 2 weeks after the jam submission window closes. Your rank in each category is determined based on votes from your fellow participants (submitters  contributors). If we do not receive more than 10 entries, we will only announce 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in all categories.

Categories include:

  • Overall
  • Theme Incorporation
  • Narrative
  • Visuals
  • Sound
