What elements of the game did you NOT create? (No need to mention engine, OS, etc.)
I used a program for sound effects and music (credited). Also not the creator of "Courier" font.

I wish there was a way to skip the opening text. I go the crash my first time because I didn't know how to place the troops and died fairly quickly. Wouldn't have been as annoying if you could skip the opening text.

But once I got through again it was fun. Fairly easy and I ended up with a full wall of soldiers. The way you pulled off perspective is really well done. At first I thought things were falling but as more of the bodies stayed on the field it all clicked and I had a great "Ah ha" moment. Well done.

Very quirky visuals. I love the monocle and the mustache on the advisors. Have you seen the kids' show Word World? Also, the introduction is very humorous, if a bit long. The gameplay was interesting for a brief period of time, though it didn't quite keep me occupied. A nice take on the text-only limitation, for sure. If you would like to check out my game and provide feedback as well, I would appreciate it :)

Nicely done! The humor was nice, and the gameplay was fine when I realized where to place the troops. The exposition took a bit too long, and there could have been some music during the battle, and the battle was really easy, but the concept works! Nice use of text-only-graphics!

I died pretty quickly, and then it crashed when I pressed continue. Placing troops is a bit hard, didn't figure out out until it was too late.

The use of text is nice however.

Oops. Forgot to reset the unique game identifier on loss.

In regards to troop placement, what made it hard? Was it because I didn't specify using the mouse or maybe which spaces were valid?

Submitted

which places where valid was a bit unexpected.

Developer

Maybe. Were the buttons to hire visible and just didn't work when clicking on them?
