This is a pretty unique idea for a game! I like the cute splash art!
Btw, you can skip ahead just by pressing N
Thanks for playing!
I will fix this skip post-jam, thanks for reporting it!
Love this idea for a puzzle game!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :)
Very nice concept, very nice gameplay. I enjoyed playing your game a lot, good job!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Cool idea! I liked how some enemies also have different detection ranges as well. The uncharmable enemy near the end is also a neat addition, but I feel that it's a bit underutilized since it only appears at the final level. Maybe you could edit some of the existing levels to include this type of enemy. I feel that it'll help to create new interesting and difficult levels as well!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the uncharmable devil was used only twice, on your first charm level and in the last one. I was running out of creativity fumes by the end -- will try to add more diverse levels post jam!
Fun little puzzler. It took me a little while to realize that I could take my arrow back out of a demon. Also I noticed that you can press N to go to the next stage at any time, you don't actually have to solve the puzzle.
Thanks for the feedback! The arrow was a tough game design challenge for me, glad you eventually found out!
Thanks for reporting the bug, I will fix post-jam. At least the ending is hidden behind finishing the actual levels :phew:
I liked the idea behind this, I feel like the gameplay could have been expanded on a little bit, it gets a little repetitive. Or maybe I just didn't get far enough in? Maybe. Good work though!
Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to push this one mechanic as far as I could in the allocated time of the jam :)
Very interesting mechanic! I don't think I've seen one like this before. Unfortunately couldn't get through stage 11 but this definitely kept up my attention longer than any other game I've tried from this jam. The difficulty curve starting with very simple teach-the-mechanic levels to more complicated ones works nicely too.
Some criticisms: I understand that you have some demons with a bigger radius of vision. I wish they also had a different appearance from each other, like the demon that can't be charmed. Also, sometimes it's impossible to tell which demon is gonna go to if they're equally far from two or more different ones, so maybe have some sort of tell (or let the player choose?). It might also be interesting to have the love spell take a turn to do and only last a few turns, so the player has to strategize more carefully about their movement.
Awesome feedback, thanks!
After play testing, it does feel cheap to have the same devil with different ranges, will improve it in the future for sure!
