Nice game! And the music fits very well.

One thing: if you do a browser version, please, don't use ESC. It locks/unlocks the game. I had to reload when I had the bad idea to look at the menu. (But that's just a minor nagging, I d like to be able to make something so polish in two days :) )

Really appreciate the feedback! This is my first browser game and I noticed that esc also got out of full-screen, but not until after I'd already posted. That is helpful to know that it can actually do worse than that. Will definitely avoid it next time :)

Neat little adventure experience. I accidentally skip through important dialogue a few times since I was trying to make the text appear fully to read it faster and ended up answering a question without knowing that the question or the answer I gave was :D But the controls are super easy, which is always a plus, and story driven game jams are a rarerity and a welcomed fresh experience.

Developer

that is really good feedback to have, thank you for taking the time! I was actually wondering if that would happen and I'm thinking maybe a small pause before it's able to register a choice button press would help? Will experiment for next time

Getting an rpg system working for a game jam sounds like a lot of work!  The menus worked really well, and I appreciated the color-coding to indicate interactable objects as well as a skip-to-end-of-text button

Developer

I would not have survived five minutes of play-testing without the skip-to-end-of-text button :) thanks so much for your comment!

Cute fun game! Got stuck waiting for the tree to grow, waited for a minute or two and ran out of things to do in game, then I sat by it for another minute or two. I thought maybe I bugged it out or something, but I still had fun. The dialogue system was very polished and I loved the visuals and sounds! Very solid game :)

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback (and waiting so long!) Sorry about that -- you actually have to go back and sleep. This is why I should've gotten a beta tester :)
