Interesting take on the theme, very originall aproach and I kinda like that you go all in and don' t have the "back door" for the case, where player would stand still and did nothing. Love how much variety you were able to pull off the only downside especially with your game is the absence of sounds. You have created just a great pool for multiple crazy sound effects, but I totally get that the time constrains of the jam are sometimes way too heavy. Anyway great job done!!

This is a really nice game! It took me some time to realize that the enemies don't hurt me, but my bullets do, which I think is a neat little idea, but the problem is there is no need for me to shoot at all then... The addition of multiple bullets is really good, each bullet type is fun in it's own way. My personal favorite is the waiting bullet :D

Thank you for your feedback!
The only reason to shoot is to get higher score (for killing enemies) which is displayed for every weapon in main menu after every run :D

This game is pretty neat! Couple points of feedback: Sound would make this SO much cooler, and I think that it might be more interesting if the different guns were actually temporary powerups in the level with the normal gun. Love the art as well, great job!

I like this game, it's really interesting to make the enemies not deal damage to you and how that changes the gameplay from how these kinds of games are normally played.

Some music and sfx would have taken this to a whole new level, that's probably the main piece of feedback I can give really. Even just a sfx for shooting and for getting a kill would have made a massive difference in how it feels I think. But ideally some music and additional sounds would really make it feel awesome.

I think the gameplay gets hectic very fast. I'd be tempted to explore something like having a more structured wave system with like small waves, medium waves and then a big wave/boss wave and then go back to small waves and repeat to try and give it a more interesting difficulty curve if that makes sense.

I know time is super limited in a game jam but I just feel like it's better to receive at least some kind of constructive criticism on what could be better as I personally find that useful, so I hope it's not taken the wrong way at all haha :)

I really like the concept for this game, but I think it could have used some tweaking. At first it wasn't clear that I was hurting myself, since I started by using the laser. But after figuring that out I felt it was just a bit too hard to avoid hitting yourself, especially since the round enemies tend to bounce your shots right back at you. I think the waiting bounce gun would be the most fun one to use, but with how many enemies spawn it gets a bit ridiculous. Also you can move into the sides where the enemies spawn, and they can get you stuck in there with no real way to get out since they just keep spawning. Here's a screenshot of where I got stuck in the corner:

Some sound effects, even just for firing, would have really helped, but the art and color palette were nice. Could definitely see this becoming a very fun game if tweaked and expanded upon.

Fun game! I like the idea that you have to be careful of your own bullets. But I was able to walk into enemies which made it feel kind of strange. Other than that: really good. Would have liked some sound too, but time on a jam is limited.

Thank you for your feedback!
The game was designed that way to make a player think it's shooter where you shouldn't touch enemies and weapons upgrades are good thing for him. The truth is you can touch enemies because they are not your real enemies (like game title said). Because of that we could make enemies much faster to disturb the player even more :D

I love the huge variety of weapons to choose to from. As someone as mentioned before, I agree that your projectiles being used against you was not communicated too well as I got killed very easy from it and I was like oooohhhhhh they do damage too lol. Fun game for sure!

What is your favorite weapon

Slow Gun I believe

It was really fun. Can't really think of any major flaws. Good job!

First off, the graphics are excellent! The idea of your own bullets becoming hazards was not immediately communicated, but once understood, the gameplay became fast and strategic. The inclusion of several weapon types leads to a fair bit of replayability as well.

My biggest complaint is there didn't seem to be any sound effects whatsoever? Sound is just as important as visual feedback especially in fast-paced games, and even the inclusion of simple sounds will make all the difference.

Regardless, excellent work!

Thank you for your feedback!
There is only one reason why there is no sound.. we just didn't have enough free time for this jam this time but we really wanted to participate so we decided to focus on visuals and gameplay only.
However we have plan to finish this small project soon by adding some sfx/music and maybe more content like 1-3 more enemies/weapons! We will probably update it in next weekend.

Damn, really solid graphics, love the art with the color pallete!
Gameplay is solid too, a little hard at first but eventually you'll get used to it, making it pretty fun.

only gripes are no sounds,  but still, it's still aesthetically pleasing! Great job!

I love that you have to fight against yourself! Such a neat idea to make the upgrades to your gun directly make the game harder. The gameplay is smooth like butter, and although there isn't any sound, the art makes up for it. Reminds me of many old, obscure Japanese arcade games.

I AM MY OWN ENEMY. BOOM. PLOT TWIST.

I love it.

Nice concept. Beautiful graphical style. The theme expressed directly "one room is one room". And it's not bad actually. You did well on polishing your gamplay.

Good job.

Developer

I'm happy to know someone likes this concept besides us!
We did our best with visuals and gameplay juices because we didn't have much time to create more weapons and enemies.

I'm glad you like my pixel art ^^

I like that you have several gun options. Idk if showing how it's gonna bounce is a good idea, because you don't have enough time really  to plan moves.

Or maybe it was just to fast for me, my game is a story-based point & click, kinda polar opposites. XD

Developer( 2)

It's point & click too.. but fast paced haha.
You are 100% right! If I would spend more time than 40 minutes on game balancing the game could be much better.
We will try to update this in few days and make it more fun to play.
Thank you for your feedback, very appreciated! :D
