I really loved the idea, and the art reminded me right away of that one 3D ball rolling game that I used to play too much. The controls were great, though the camera was a little weird, I would have preferred to see it zoomed out more.
Once I understood the movement this was really cool. I went into this expecting the usual platformer movement but the fact that you're a rolling sphere and can gain momentum was something I had to get used to. The last rotating spike trap took me a surprisingly long time to get past but it was rewarding once I did. I really like the smooth camera transitions! The collision shapes on the traps are a little bigger than the sprites themselves which often resulted in deaths that felt a little unfair. There's also a lot of opportunity to expand on the laser beam mechanic and make it more involved. But overall this was very fun. Nicely done!
I wish the camera stayed in the zoomed-out state more often. Especially on the last level I kept dying by falling onto spikes that started offscreen. And on the second level the camera zoomout was so slow that I died before seeing that there was something to shoot my laser at to make that section passable. I liked the feel of the game otherwise, along with the art style and music. Well done!
The camera work on this game is really nice.
I did not like the controls.
I am not a platformer guy but I tried my best to finish the game and I quit after I kept pressing SPACE to jump instead of UP and kept dying
Good entry. I recommend adding control mapping and accessibility next time. You can find template addons for those easily if you don't want to do them
Great game, sometimes I wished that the camera zoomed out further, and maybe some checkpoints would be nice ... Great music and I like the simple art style.
Thank you!
Neat concept, and I love the art style! I found myself most of the time pressing space bar out of instinct to try jump, but ended up toggling the laser instead. Maybe a mouse button will fit better for this mechanic, since you also use the mouse to aim. Showing the cursor (or adding a custom cursor) in game could be a nice addition as well, since its difficult to know where you're aiming before you turn the laser on. Otherwise, enjoyed playing this one!
Nice work! Dig the music and vibe. Echoing some other comments, it was pretty slow zoom out so speed running is pretty tough. I also really wanted to left click for the laser.
Really enjoyed the colors and how smoothly the camera would zoom in and out! Also how there would be timers on some of the reflection puzzles requiring a sense of urgency. Died a bit too many times during the 2nd level where there's a few leap of faith areas though. Other than that, pretty solid game! ^^
Great physics and camera work! I really enjoy the feel of the ball rolling and the camera following it! To be completely hones though, I don't feel like lasers and reflection add much to the experience
Thank you. I'm still new to this and believe I could rework the level design to emphasize the use of the mechanic. That's my goal anyway!
I'll echo the comments re: large spike hitboxes, and camera taking its sweet time to zoom out while being chased by said large hitboxes, spikes included. That aside, the difficulty felt just right, with tight but not perfect precision timing required to progress. Not bad!
Thank you!
Really liked this! The challenge ramped up nicely and the mechanics felt good. That last level gave me a hard time but I stuck with it past the ten death mark, which is always a good sign!
The camera zooming in and out was a really nice idea, but maybe stayed in too close in certain sections and caused a few inadvertent spike-deaths. The space bar not being jump also caused a few accidental deaths...
Overall really good though, lots of fun! And I loved the aesthetic
Thank you. I've gotten some good feedback on controls I wish I had time to have someone test before submission so I'll try that next jam.
The concept is very fun, the level design is good and the art is perfect. My only complain is that the spikes have a very big hitbox for a spike, if you compare them, with geometry dash spikes hitbox you will understand what I mean, but overall it was fun, I think it was a good idea that the slide was massive well because it's a BALL. Very fun game and unique
Nice game! I liked the concepts and level design. The difficulty ramped up a bit too much imho - rotating saws are frustrating. A few Nintendo joypads were sacrificed to the hard floor gods playing Super Mario World back in my day. The game could use a bit more SFX like when landing, jumping, lasers bouncing, etc. Also, the camera should follow ahead of the player when falling. Great game!
The game was really fun and combined mechanics that I would not have thought fit so well. Sometimes the camera was a bit too zoomed in, so it was hard to see ahead. Overalll, very nice even if small, game.
Very nice game and mechanics! I enjoyed playing it, considering the slow movement of the game I would have preferred to have checkpoints
I like the reflection mechanic, would have liked to see more puzzles that focused on that! The timed platforming was a bit challenging too, though I got through with enough tries.
Nice creative idea!
Fun and challenging. I beat all levels. The first level was very difficult for me. imo the second level would have made a good first level.
18 deaths first level and 0 in the second level :D
Thank you for the feed back. I had the first and third level for a couple days and added a third an hour before submission. Would definitely like to figure out a progressive level loop for challenges.
Thank you so much for playing
Didn't have time to write a good description, but you're just going through three levels using a laser. Movement is wasd and arrow keys. s and down arrow toggle laser. Space bar toggles laser. thank you!
