A really good game! I will forever respect people who can play games with arrow keys.
A really cool moment happened where as I was taking the magic broom up the passage, the music slowed down, for a second I thought it was programmed into the game that way.
Must have been your browser glitching... 😁
Very cool, couldnt get used to the controls but after some time it clicked!
I like the music very much!
This is a great entry, very simple but effective (but sometimes frustrating). One of my favourites so far!
Nice game. I like the atmosphere and the fact you need to do some clever combos with dashing and climbing. Good job!
Really good game!
Great graphics, nice soundtrack, juicy action-feedback sounds and fun levels.
I just missed coyote times, so sometimes when I wanted to react I simply couldn't because it was too late. But overall great game!
Thanks for the feedback. Coyote time was on my to-do list, but unfortunately I run out of time. I'll probably add it in a post jam update.
Really nice atmosphere in this game.
Also the jumping and climbing feels quite fun. Definitely reminds of celeste.
Altough I would have love to be able to remap the keys or a somehow another control scheme. My hands got a bit cramped while trying to use split them between XCZ :D
All in all a very enjoyble game. Well done :)
Thanks for the game! I had fun, even though I didn't get very far.
Theme: The theme used as the setup for the story, but other than that didn't really factor in at all.
Fun: The game was well done, but my fun suffered because I suck at platformers so I kept dying (specifically by falling). I didn't even make it to the part with the enemies :(
Controls: Needing to have multiple keys pressed at the same time felt a bit cumbersome (I agree with spookyhousegames).
Graphics: I love the aesthetic of the game! But the death screen hurts my eyes. That giant white circle is too much contrast, too fast. You really don't need that big a visual for death. Or any visual at all, actually. Lots of platformers just play the death sound and reset.
Audio: The music was hauntingly beautiful! I loved most of the sound effects. The sound I didn't like was the death sound. So given that I dislike the visuals and the audio for death, that made death even more frustrating.
Accessibility: Probably the lowest point of your game. No option to remap controls. Requires the ability to press two buttons at a time. No option to adjust difficulty. Unplayable without visuals. All of these are true of many games, but I'm just looking at the list we were given: http://gameaccessibilityguidelines.com/basic/. What you did well: no information is conveyed by color alone (you have no color lol), good contrast between text and background, visuals are large enough to be easy to see.
Originality: pretty similar to existing platformers, though you did have more control options than I usually see in a platformer. Overall did not seem very original, but of course nothing is truly original.
Thanks so much for the detailed feedback.

Fun game! I think for the controls if you made it like (arows and ZXC) or ( WASD and JKL) it might be more comfortable for more people. idk though I mostly play games with controllers so if I am being honest I don't really know what most common for Keyboards. Anyways nice entry all the abilities felt good to me and I liked the art!
Thanks for the feedback and the kind words. The intended control setup is definitely arrow keys z/x/c. WASD being available is a mistake I made. And a controller with a good dpad would work marvelously for this kind of setup, if I had put it in place.
The mood near the start felt different than the one at the end, and I think if you continued the melancholy "if we go far enough sometimes we find someplace" kind if idea, I think you could make a really nice message out of it about finding oneself. Platforming wise, the mechanics worked and I liked the levels. It was fun!
I'm generally bad at platformers but somehow this one clicked with me. I enjoyed it a lot. Perhaps it was the near-1-bit style. I guess they call it 1-bitish. I liked the graphics more than you might expect. :P Only advice is I found the climb/dash/jump to be a little...awkward? Not exactly, but sort of. Tough to explain, but you might look into Sealed Bite to see how Securas handles it - he's got a game very similar to Celeste here https://securas.itch.io/sealedbite-gamejamversion. But overall, good job!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely check that game out. About the key combination. We're you using the arrow keys for movement or WASD? Because I think I shouldn't have left the latter in the game. It's definitely a bit awkward.
Either - especially with WASD I found it awkward, but I still had a feeling they were a little too close with the arrows. I think I had to use mostly arrows though because my right-hand is slightly more coordinated at delicate jumps than my left, when not using a controller
very well done mechanics, for a game jam i didnt expect such variety, jump, climb, dash(in many directions!) i think the jump need a little work, maybe some extra power, or maybe im just bad at this kind of game. Lol. like it!
Very fun game, loved the mechanics and the smooth music
Cool game.
Simple, yet very challenging.
Nice game.
The controls could have been much better though.
The art was cute.
Good job! :)
I like the 2 bit aesthetic in this cute tin man platformer. The controls are very hard on keyboard but I think with a controller it would be fine. I couldn't beat it, but it was fun nonetheless.
Wow. Really cool platformer. Didn't read the description so I had no idea who I was until a little after I saw then enemies then it hit me! Oz!
Found the game extremely difficult on Keyboard (maybe this was developed with a controller?), but that difficulty made me want to keep trying until I reached the end! For the longest time, I thought I had to use WASD which is super awkward with z,x,c, but then when I switched to arrow keys it got a lot better, though the enemies are still brutal!
Really enjoyed playing this one. Great job.
Thanks for the feedback. Thinking about it, I think I'd better disable WASD altogether, because it doesn't really make any sense. This is meant to be played with one hand on the arrow keys and one hand on z/x/c (same as Celeste). I can easily map these to the controller too.
