Very polished game! I love the art style

Very impressive game for a game jam. I liked the art style and gameplay a lot but got stuck a bit after getting the nail pogo. Whichever way I go, I end up running out of energy, and being sent back to the start point. Is that intended, and are there any other ways to refill your energy?

Developer

This is intended. The idea is to have a precition platformer where you have a timer. It's meant to stress you out. The game is very hard but it's also very short.  There are almost always multiple ways to go, so when you get tired of learning one you can always go to the other on.

I get that this is not for everyone, but I think it is a fair challenge and is also very unique.

I'm thinking about uploading a developer playthrough so everyone can experience the ending and see all the upgrades. (Because later you can get an upgrade for the energy you start with).

But thank you for playing and leaving a comment. It's appreciated.

I loved this game, although I couldn't get through the first part :/

Developer

That's ok. It is a hard game.

So good to play, very polished.

I love how the game feels and controls, the pogo jump mechanic is WONDERFUL.

That said, I think the "repeat the whole game once the time expires" mechanic is a poor fit here as it doesn't really let you train the difficult parts.

Developer( 1)

Yeah I probably should have added a practice mode or something like that.
Thank you for playing.

Very cute and super responsive! This is a challenging game and I could see how it could be addictive! Very nice! 💚

What a fun  little game.  I'll admit I was worried with the wall of text at the very start, but it turned out to be a fun and well rendered platformer.  My once criticism is that beeping noise that starts when your time gets low.  Maybe replace it with something more pleasant to listen to or make it last for a shorter period of time.

Edit: maybe  one other thing.  I know the concept of this game is to get from the starting point to the goal within the time limit, but I'm finding that this ends up with me spending most of my time replaying the same easy parts over and over again with very little time left to practice the harder parts.  Maybe if there was an 'easy' mode where the player could restart at checkpoints it would help.

Developer

Yeah that's a great idea actually. I think I will add an practice mode after the voting is done. And yes I will reduce the beeping . sorry for that. I was just worried some people might miss that their energy is low.

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

This game has a lot of potentials. The movement might be a bit hard to control and there seems to be no way of refilling the timer that will kill the player after some minute or so, but the art style and design are really good. Some visual tutorials at the start would really help. All things considered, good job on your game!

Developer

Thank you.

Do you mean tutorials for basic movement and jumping ? Because I just assumed that most people will know how this works anyways.

Thank you for playing :)

Submitted( 1)

No, I meant tutorial for what you should do in this game. For example, I don't know what should I do to refill the timer so the player doesn't die and keep restarting the game. I was thinking that I'm missing something really important here. Or maybe it's just me, haha. Anyway, just take it with a grain of salt. I don't have as much experience as you since this is my first game and jam.

Developer

Oh that's what you meant. I mentioned it in the story part at the beginning but I guess it was a little bit unclear. I can add a little note at the beginning that tells you that your energy is basically a timer to make it more clear. Someting like " Find the central unit before your energy runs out. "

Very cool idea! quite an unique game. The movement felt a bit floaty, and difficult to controll, which made even simple platforming quite difficult! will later check the sequel!

Developer

Thanks for playing.
Originally the movement was way more responsive but I wanted to implement some jumps that require enough momentum so I changed the physics a bit. I also usually design my movement systems with speedrunning in mind but maybe I went a bit over board with it :)

Also thank you for checking out the sequel.
