Such a cool take on the theme!! I did find in later waves there was really no way to hold out just because the enemies were so much faster than I was and there was no way to really escape. There were also some pretty crazy lag spikes on occasion. Despite this though I spent a good while playing and really enjoyed trying out different builds to find what worked best! Will definitely come back and play more from time to time :)

Thank you so much! And yeah, I don't think I handled the difficulty very well. I noticed that around wave 5 it ramps up pretty quickly. I also noticed some lag that I've already changed and will wait for the end of the jam to upload. There are lag spikes whenever a new particle system loads in. Thank you again for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed!

Really cool entry and wave shooter. I really liked the style you went for. I wish your character moved a bit faster. Or maybe they start faster and get slower as you add more parts idk. I did also experience some bad frame drops when killing some of the bigger enemies. I enjoyed the simplicity of the building and the number of different blocks you have.

Developer( 1)

Yes, thank you. I definitely want to change how the movement works, like maybe adding a module that speeds you up. I also need to fix some of the lag issues, and I think some of it is because of the number of distance formulas I'm doing, idk. Thank you for playing!

Spent way too much time on it

this is a good thing right :) Thanks so much for playing!

good game :)

Thanks for playing and giving your score page like this, it is so helpful and can tell me how well people are doing. I find that wave 5 (the wave you died on) seems to increase in difficulty quite a bit. In the future I definitely want to edit the difficulty curve.

I really love it and it's that kind of game where at the end of the jam, if they keep updating it, it becomes one of the best indie games of the year. I'm surprised that in just one week you've made such a complex system.

Developer( 1)

Wow, thank you so much. I'm excited to keep working on this project after the jam is done because I have so many ideas that I didn't get to implement. And that 'complex system' is a little bit of spaghetti code, but I plan to fix that after the jam :)

i liked this! really fun take on the theme,  although i did die a lot lol

Developer

Yes, thank you! I had some trouble trying to edit the difficulty. For me it feels like it starts easy and then all of a sudden is pretty hard :)

Really fun and fits the theme really well. Good job

I really enjoyed my time playing this entry, nice interpretation and avoiding and destroying ships is a good mechanic. Excellent work considering is your first game jam!

Developer( 1)

Yes, thank you! I'm proud of what I've accomplished. I've always struggled to finish whatever project I start, so I thought that if the YouTubers were right, I should join a game jam :) Also I really enjoyed your game!

NGL this has been my favorite so far. Combined playtime is 2 hours. Will keep an eye out for updates

Developer

Wow, thank you so much! I'm curious what level you got to. And I have lots and lots of ideas of things that I want to add that I didn't get a chance to. Thank you, this means a ton!

Always glad to offer feedback. If it's not too much of a bother, can you rate mine?

Developer

Yeah, I'll go review it rn

This entry was stunning and even more impressive for a first game jam. Not sure what’s going on with some unexpected stuttering, I guess there are resources being loaded. maybe some preloading would help. Otherwise it looks and plays great. I would only add a leaderboard :)

Developer

Thank you! This means a lot. Yes, I find that this was a very successful first game jam. Yes, I've noticed slight lag spikes whenever I load a new particle effect in which happens quite a bit. Definitely something I want to fix after the jam is over. Thanks!

Very fun! I think this idea has great potential for a roguelike. All the mechanics are very functional, and there are plenty of weapons to use. I can see the great effort put into this, and I hope you continue with the project. Congratulations on an amazing game!!

Developer( 1)

Thank you! Yes, I want to continue this more but after at least a week so I don't get burnt out. There was/is so much more that I want to add. Thank you so much!

I know I'm a bit early to the party, but wow! This is really cool and I love how it kind of mixes brotato and tower defense.  Nice job :D

Thank you! I sacrificed my grades in school but that's fine :)

I know the feeling, that you can't have both good grades and make any reasonable progress in game dev. I'm trying my best to put my grades first and game dev second but that means that my progress is a bit slow. Anyways have an awesome day :D
