got chills 10/10
Awesome concept. I enjoyed it!
Bugs
The clock got stuck in the rock behind it and I had to restart.
Fast climb hotkey often doesn't work, or works for a few seconds and stops.
After I threw the final piece and returned to the green guy to check if he has any new dialogue, the character froze and I couldn't move anymore. I didn't finish the game because of that :(
Thanks for the review!
In term of bugs:
1. I still need to figure out how to set up colliders in Godot so they won't behave so unreliably.
2. Fast scaling works that way that tower is divided into segments and it will only work at the base of each segment up to the upper end of that segment and I haven't got time to figure out how to do it so it takes you from bottom of the tower all the way up (aside from simply teleporting).
3. To be honest I've never encountered that bug lol. I'll have to look into that hah.
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!
Spoiler:
PS: To be honest, nothing revolutionary happens in the ending yet, but still you can click P and it ascends the tower by one item thrown so you can click it 8 times and you will get your progress back.
I ascended and... finally touched the grass ;)
A question. Would you like to participate in a jam together? Not necessarily now, but in a few weeks or later. I really like the look of your game.
I have programming experience and I plan to learn Blender.
Chill, coherent, stylish. Really positive experiance and I didn't encounter any issues in the web version. Cheers
Thanks for playing <3
Your game gave me the CHILLS with its unsettling atmosphere. In a good way, of course. Good luck!
Thanks for playing c;
Interesting game! I like this mysterious atmosphere, the mechanics are quite simple but there is some charm in it. Walking around and collecting strange objects accompanied mainly by footsteps is quite relaxing. I had a great time playing this game! Good job! ♥
Thanks for playing my game and I'm glad you had fun c;
Love that kind of strange experiences! The atmosphere is very cool, it may need or lack 2-3 things game-wise to be full but I have to say that I appreciated playing itnonetheless! Good job!
Thanks for the review! I'm going to add missing features and challenges at some point. Glad you enjoyed my game!
Interesting game with a nice style. I like how creepy and weird it feels, even got a couple scares. Would've been nice to maybe see a bit more variety with puzzles or leaning more into the horror with something following you, since most items were pretty simple to get to and pick up, but the atmosphere still kept me interested to the end. I also enjoyed the dialogue with the guy next to the tower. A nice little game, good job!
Thanks for the review! I kind of procrastinated in making of main challenges in favor of other stuff so for now I admit it's a bit lacking. Thanks for playing!
I liked the atmosphere and how it feels like you're walking towards an endless place, but then you actually get there hahaha. Good game Empty :)
Thanks for playing the game! I'm glad you liked it c;
Really mysterious atmosphere. I would have liked a bit of tutorialisation, as I felt a bit lost at times. But otherwise this was a cool game to get swallowed up in! Nice work!
Thanks for the review! The role of giving tutorial to the player belongs to that friend next to spawn, but due to time constraints I didn't give him more dialogs to point player in the right direction or give him some marker that he has new dialog available, but that may change if I continue working on the game. Glad you liked it c:
Played it through to the end and rly liked it. The pixelated visuals made it satisfying to get close to things and see the details. Didn't expect things to attack you and that scared me lol. I also liked how there was a quick transportation to the top of the tower cause I was thinking at the start that it might get tedious otherwise. Very nice
Thanks for the review! Transportation could be even better, but that's the problem for future me. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the atmosphere and the settings! Also thank you for adding a way to make it faster to go up the tower, it really helped!
Great game, loved it!
Thanks for playing the game! Glad you enjoyed it!
The aesthetic and atmosphere were really good! There were even a couple jump scares! Also thank you for adding the ability to quickly run up the tower. You recognized it was gonna be tedious as it got taller and had a good solution for that. Nice job! I think a little bit of highlighting or something to indicate which items are able to be grabbed would be helpful, especially since the graphics are pixelated, but I had a great time playing this. Well done!
Thanks so much for the review! Good thing Godot has nodes such as Path3D that helped me implement it in time. I tried highlighting them by adding some light over them, but it's seems maybe some extra highlight shader would be nice addition to them. Glad you liked it!
I enjoyed this game so much, love the atmosphere. the first time I played tho, I encountered a bug, a object which I dropped into the hole didn't get detected and clipped through the ground
Thanks for playing the game! I will have to look into how to make colliders in Godot work better and not clip out for no reason. You can always click P to manually rise tower in that case. Glad you enjoyed it!
I had my audio up from a previous game and that damn mask gave me an absolute hell of a jumpscare. Scaring the absolute living daylights out of me aside, great game! The art style really works well with the environment and feel that you were going for. Well done!
Thanks for playing my game and enjoying it c:
Cool game! I also had the clock into the rock issue, and also one of the items also clipped through the tower floor, since I was getting them all up first and then throwing them, that way I wouldn't have to climb up less . Some of the areas gave me a bit of a jump scare 😄
Oh I was wondering whether someone would use this strategy! Thanks for playing the game!
I was trapped in this level design, love it.
Glad you liked it c:
It's a game that should have felt more repetitive, but each step was a pleasure. I liked whizzing up the tower with the "e" button. The zones were all interesting in their own way. Enjoyed the effects and jump scares. The level of pixelization was a little hard to look at some times when moving. Though it did look nice overall.
Oh thank you very much for the review! Maybe after all I will just make option to either teleport to top of the tower instantly, but also leave the E button quick scaling mechanic. Glad you played my game!
Reminds me of a game similar in this jam, but the art style and main goal differs a bit. Anyway the game is good, a bit laggy on web but still plays good ! Also like Chiara-san said, i would have been perfect to reduce a bit the size to have a better balance of the difficulty / challenge ?
Thanks you for the review! It would be indeed better if i reduced map size and simply polish existing content. As I mentioned description, performance is better in downloadable version, but I know that generally players prefer browser versions. Thanks for playing!
The idea is very interesting, and the areas are simple and beautiful. I found it a bit strange that in some areas there was a challenge to steal the object, while in others there wasn't. But overall, it's a great game!
Thanks for the review. There were planned specific challenges for each item, but sadly didn't have time to implement them. Thanks for playing!
i was able to push the clock through the rock
Such are Godot colliders. If something like this happen, you can always press P to manually ascend tower.
