Really cool game with an awsome concept. I managed to grab a friend and play a few games. Its decently fun and well polished. I liked how different attacks were better against different sizes. It was a bit frustrating how quickly some games ended. Dying after only a few hits kind of gets you out of the flow. Overall though this is pretty great and I always love to see multiplayer games for game jams!
I think there's an interesting concept here, kinda wish there was a vs AI option but I think my biggest complaint is the lack of hitstop on attacks that makes attacks not feel that impactful. It doesn't really feel as satisfying as it good. Footsies is directly mentioned as an inspiration but I think it's just not quite as satisfying to play due to the fact hits just don't feel all that impactful.
Checking out all my fellow “Root” games. Obviously you’ve played footsies, maybe that was how you could’ve made some basic AI? Also, High attack on the biggest size whiffs on medium and smaller. So Pretty sure the biggest dude is bottom tier.
Can't play as single player (vs CPU) that is against rules IIRC.
yo this is cool, wish i have somebody to play this with
Cool sound design, nice spin on the game Footsies, definitely enjoyed cooking my friend but the scaling took so long it felt like a detriment most of the time
yeah, if there is a cpu player it would cool but hey at least I had fun bullying my 6 yo younger brother.
Really cool, a cpu player would be good but i guess thats hard to do in the time constraints.
Best concept I've seen so far. Too bad there's no computer player.
