i always like a take on greek mythology! i managed to get sisyphus to like 50-60% but then gave up cause it was too hard :( but fun idea nonetheless!
That's amazing! I think definitely the current high-score from what was reported in the comments!
I think ~20%, 50-60% and 95% are the areas players are most likely to get stuck, so if you come back to it, you're almost there ;)
I dead was really clever! I think separating the boulder rotation from the camera rotation would have helped the controls feel a bit more intuitive

I think the reason why combining boulder rotation with camera rotation made sense to us is because there is not really a "front facing side" for a boulder, unlike a humanoid character model. As a result, decoupling the two would give you no sense of which direction "pressing forward" should imply.
Definitely something to think about though. Maybe "forward" could be "towards sisyphus", and then a separate camera rotation could be achieved.
I really like the idea and the style, sadly the controls are a bit tough for me, I didn't manage to push Sisyphus a lot
Sweet! I think the controls are a bit similar to your game where you have to rotate the sword and then 'boost', but I guess having the camera rotate as well makes it a bit harder at times :)
Yeah I totally see what you mean ! And I think I didn't get how the game was working at first, you're right. I was more trying to move Sisyphus by only "rolling" on him instead of "pushing" him with the dash, it's clearly better now ahah
Graphics are really nice. I like the panning intro. Controls are tough to get used to.
Glad you liked the panning intro! We were quite surprised how effective it was to set the mood and tutorialise the track :)
I'm a big fan of Camus and also made a game on the theme of Siyphus once, so you can imagine how I LOVE the concept! Controls were quite hard, I couldn't get more than 20%. Visually nice and above all, hilarious!

I love that you enjoyed the theme that much! We were also laughing a lot at the idea while programming :) I had to go and check out your Sisyphus game and it is really well made! Love the humor, general art style and music choices :)
Haha thanks to have tried ours! Yes it was only with the boost, pushing him from place to place!
Really cool concept and execution in the visuals department but i found the controls pretty difficult to navigate, although i suppose that is fitting as maybe that's why rocks don't usually push people up hills...

Love the idea for this game. The low poly art is nice but I found the controls difficult to use, janky and hard to aim, but I suppose that's part of the design. Really cool concept, maybe some audio/SFX and better control system could improve this game further.

HAHAHA this game has a really fun concept and a really solid execution!! The UI is really well done and I love how the boost is as much of a movement tool as a means to success. (and also I appreciate that sisyphus will try getting up to unstuck himself)
I understand the physics based ragey part of the controls but to be honest, being unable to strafe and only move forward made it really motion sickness inducing as I had to turn around a lot and I only made it 66% of the way :p
Other than that, it is impressive that you guys could make this in 48 hours. Kudos!!
Thanks for the feedback! We didn't consider motion sickness at all (I guess we're less prone to that), so that's a good thing to keep in mind for the future.
Btw, 66% is not bad at all! I think most people give up a lot sooner.
Cool and fun idea. But the rock was too hard to control. I could not get Sisyphus up the hill no matter how hard I tried.
It's a steep (pardon the pun) learning curve. And jankiness. A lot of jankiness.
