Cool mechanics and nice aesthetics, well done !
nice work on this. Excellent range of enemies.
I was a bit disappointed by the crossbow :P. Heavy hit, but very slow, suppose that's the trade off. I had some bugs with it where it didn't fire at all (while holding mouse, or by clicking) off and on until I died.
My suggestion would be to ramp up the pace of things to 11! :).
More and faster enemies, much quicker fire rate.
But I did enjoy it! nice set up!
Definitely a faster pace is needed in the game, the crossbow should've really had a higher fire-rate to really trade off its hefty price, so that change is coming after the jam.
Thank you for playing!
I look forward to a replay of it when you update! :)
This is a fun defense game! I like the combination of shooting arrows and building defenses; it reminds me of the games Orcs Must Die and Dungeon Defenders. The sprites look amazing, and the other existing assets you used match the aesthetic really well. The gameplay is also solid, though I must admit that I expected the arrows to be affected by gravity instead of flying straight (I think it would be a neat addition if you choose to develop the game further!).
This was my first game in Godot, so I had quite the number of issues when it came to the physics system, so it was originally supposed to be affected by gravity but had to cancel it for the more important stuff.
Thank you for your kind words and for playing!!
Ay nice job, I enjoy the combination of defending with a ranged weapon and placing down a thick layer of spike traps.
A very nice aesthetic with the art you've got in this game.
The toot of celebration at the end earned you an extra sound star ;D
*Additional waves to throw at my defences would have been nice, but also fair enough with the time constraints
The game has some nice features and a decent gameplay experience. While there are enjoyable aspects, there's still room for improvement. Keep refining it! Great Job!
Very fun game! Love the mechanics and the pixel art, also like the cool transition to the upgrade screen. I wish it didn't end so soon, I wanted to fill the screen with traps and spend more time with the crossbow! Great submission!
Thank you for you kind feedback!
I'm planning on adding more traps and enemies to the game and extend the game longer with more waves after the jam, I'll try my best to make it as good as possible.
Thank you for playing!!
Good job guys!
I wouldn't mind if it had more waves so I could use my cross bow longer but still fun
I was making the waves half an hour before the deadline so I couldn't add much more in time (sorry!)
I'm only 1 guy, there is only me!
Enjoyable game, like the pause in between waves so no pressure on purchases being made - nice interaction between the traps you could buy. Good job!
that was great, the music, the game play, the visuals, I really enjoyed playing it! well done!
Liked the simple, fun mechanic and the upgrades, and the aesthetic looks great, very nice job on it!
Learned it the hard way from my last jam that simple games with easy to understand mechanics are the best!!
Thank you for playing!
Very fun game! I love the aesthetic and the mechanics. Also the game seems very polished. Well done!
Bla bla bla to you too, General Aldric.
Pretty fun! The freeze crystals sound great. I saved up all my money for the crossbow, but then it was so slow I missed the bow...
Good variety of enemies and traps and nice aesthetics! The music is pretty laid back for a fortress under siege. I really appreciate auto-fire! (Though far more so with the bow.)
So sorry about the cross bow it will be buffed after the jam T-T
Combat music when the waves start is definitely on my TODO list.
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!
This game is so cool! it is a complete game and I was playing it for a long time and had so much fun!
I can see this as a mobile game after adding some more features, it will be great!
Thank you!
I saved the kingdom babyyyy! Really well designed game, I had a blast!
Let's go babyyyyy!!
Thank you for playing :D
Very nice game, that perfectly sets the theme. Nice story as well, that really gets the mood going. I would definitely play more of this game. Sound effects could get a little more variation using different pitches, but overall very interesting and nice to play.
Very nice tower defense, loved that I found this, such a fun time! Had an arcadey nostalgic feel, and beautiful art all around. Made it all the way through! Creative characters, love the ram duo, could easily be expanded upon. I think flying enemies would be a perfect fit for this one to involve changing aim and amplify that you are an archer. Personally I would also want to see it change to a more intensive music when the fighting is going on.
Great jam, thanks!
Thank you for your feedback!
I 100% agree on the flying enemies, one of the things I wanted to add was flying enemies, it was to make spikes more independent and less powerful, and give a threat that walls can't protect from, but that required new traps to be added as well which I couldn't do in time. Maybe in the future though, who knows? ;)
Dynamic music sounds like a great idea! I'll definitely add it to the list!
Great work! Loved the theming. I see some had issues with the balancing but I thought the prices were fair and promoted choosing good strategic picks from the shop. I would love to see an expansion to this game for sure. Fun stuff
Thank you for playing!
The main problem with the pricing is the fact that it solely depends on your performance, I see it as a cursed game design problem, since waves are not random, the amount of money you get is fixed, which means that if for example, a wall you built breaks, you will probably rebuild it, but for another player it doesn't, so they have more money to invest into more expensive utility. This issue is clearer due to the fact that the game doesn't have that many waves, but an expanded version would probably have a smaller issue with the economy from this problem.
But still, I'm glad that you enjoyed the game and didn't face such issue :D
Loved this one! My favourit so far! I just love these type of games. Its well polished, nice music. I love the theme. Its similar to our game in a way. Great job ! :)
Thank you for your kind words!
Surprisingly, this jam has a very "tower-defense"-ish theme, so it was inevitable to see a lot of tower-defense games, and a lot of unique ones at that!
Very good siege defense game, I liked the sound design and shop mechanics. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Really nice game, I really enjoyed the art.
As mentioned a little bit faster pace would be nice. Also, it was hard for me to save enough money for the better stuff in the sop :-)
The shop stuff (specifically the crossbow) do have some pricing problems since I didn't spend a lot of time balancing the game, I'll try to have a more approachable shop design in an updated version of this game. And a faster pace as well.
Thanks for playing!
