Fun game! For me, the assets and music were the most successful parts. I found the mining and collecting ore a little slow. I just wasn't finding much ore at first and it led to a really slow start, plus you have to pay with ore to teleport out and get upgrades. I think this could be a bit more face paced. The overall level of polish and how well put together this is is really impressive tho! Nice work!

GREAT GAME!!

This game was really fun! It was a little too easy though. If you don't buy any upgrades and just put all of your money into the machine you can beat the game pretty quickly. Overall, it was a very enjoyable game, good job!

As others have already said, the Opening Song is the best part ;). But in all seriousness, this game was really enjoyable! I like the shop system and mining in the caves (it reminds me of Minecraft) and the overall game loop was quite fun.

Thank you for all the kind comments! We really appreciate each and every one of them. Make sure to also check out the Credits track if you haven't yet.

Thank you! You should also check out the Credits track if you didn't already :)

This game is quite fun! I enjoyed the bits of story you packed into it! I think the teleport mechanic could use some work, maybe a loading graphic to indicate something's happening, when I played the first time, I thought the game had broken or something... Overall I had a good time playing it!

I like mining in games so that part of the gameplay was very appealing to me :D

Simple but good gameplay and good upgrades.

My only complaint is that the game tends to unrecoverably freeze when I enter the mine.

Hi!

Well, I couldn't win because I seem to have missed something. I bought the whole store, dug the whole mine in the dungeon and stayed there for 15 minutes. But I didn't really go into the details on the plates, I understood that there is a generator that needs to be refueled, but it seem like I missed something elementary, in any case, 15 minutes to mine the mine at maximum speed - it looked cool!

Sometimes the game froze, I had to reload, but in general - cool, congratulations!

Thanks for the feedback. We tried to drop hints to donate ore at the shop (button in lower right of shop menu) but probably could have used a tutorial screen to explain it. Glad you enjoyed mining at least :)

Seeing a few comments about the game freezing when entering the mines; I can't think what could be causing it off the top of my head. Freezes are the worst, sorry about that.

The game only stucke once, so overall it didn't really affect my gaming experience with your game. But it would be good without them ;).

Overall, really fun game and you did a great job! I thought the tutorial was really well done, and I liked how it gave you time/room to explore before moving you to the core gameplay. One small suggestion is tied to the timer that is shown to the player during the warp mechanic, and how the box is rotated based on the players direction. This made it a little hard to read when upside down.

The gameplay was very simple but still very engaging, i love the music fits the environment very well. The tutorial and story also very well made. When I was in the fake mines in the city, I thought that I would just be able to dig it here, but I was wrong. The animation of how it takes your ores is very well done. I just find the upgrade a little bit usless, I understand that it was supposed to make the gameplay special, but I would find a better use for it. Overall very fun game to play.

Oh, cool old school pixel art, an interesting solution with auto combat and collecting resources. True, I didn’t understand how to hand over the collected gold. In my game, I also tried to combine the collection of resources in a mini-game and further use in battle.

Mining is not my most favorite genre , but auto mining and auto attacking mixed with store upgrades makes an i nnovating mechanics! I didn't understand very well how fits the theme, but great job! I liked the music too!

wow so much story in a mining game :)

good jam entry

Really cool game! I beat it, but I felt a bit like I was cheating because if you just tunnel into the walls as soon as you enter the mines then you avoid the orcs because they never made it into the small gaps, and I also seemed to find ore quickly that way. I bought a backpack but it didn’t seem to let me carry any extra ore? Some of the other shop items seemed overpriced, like the teleport coupon for 40 when to teleport only costs 20. Overall though, it was fun, so great job!

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention that bugged me a bit was the mix of mouse and keyboard input for some of the UI elements. Like when transferring ore you click a button with the mouse but then you need to hit enter to select the button and you can’t click it. That’s a little wonky for UI design, so I’d suggest to have it all mouse responsive, or even better have everything accessible through keyboard as well (not that I did that in my game as it’s all mouse driven haha)

Thanks a lot for the comments!

We unfortunately didn't have enough time to balance the shop upgrades out before the end of the jam. Same thing with the mix of mouse and keyboard responsiveness also. We have found it generally better to use the keyboard to play this one as a result.

Thanks for playing and commenting!

Great Job! I'm really impressed with the story you came up with.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the comment!

We impressed ourselves a bit with that because in the beginning some of the elements we came up with seemed pretty random, but in the end it all came together fairly organically. Hope you enjoyed playing!
