Very good, incredible mechanics
I liked the mechanics a lot and having a story on top of the cool graphics is very nice. The only thing might be the high dificulty, but even so the challenge can also make it fun and gives a reason to play more than once. It really is a very good and complete game!
one of the best game i played during the jam. i couldn't beat mr octopus on all my tries but it was super fun.
This is a really awesome and polished game! The mechanics were very interesting and the art was really nice especially the character animations! I wish there was a way to skip the dialogue of each boss as I had to click through it a lot when replaying levels. I had a lot of fun playing even though I found the difficulty really hard :D
Really impressive work! I was surprised to find a game that felt like it had such lore and worldbuilding like this one!
It's not really my kind of game, personally. The amount of explanation in the tutorial made my eyes glaze over a bit, but if I had more time to sit with it I think I'd appreciate it more.
Also, the game doesn't scale properly when I fullscreen (it cuts off the side because my screen isn't widescreen) so I had to play in the window and the text was kind of small. Just a small issue that should be able to be fixed pretty easily.
Hey Mike thanks for your feedback ! Was the scaling issue happening in web or windows exe ? It's a redundant issue we've had in previous jams for unconventional monitor sizes.
It was in the web version when i went fullscreen
Well polished game ! Good job !
Very impressive game, congratulations. It was a very nice experience and the game is beautiful and well polished.
At first I did not understand that I had to click on the enemy to hit him, so I went a few rounds without doing anything :D
Amazing that you were able to do this in only 7 days.
Quite a good game! I typically don't enjoy turn-based combat, but this one was quite enjoyable. Great job!
The fighting mechanics are very polished and the story interesting!
This was cool! Really polished and the mechanics felt really good! Congrats..
Wow, this truly blew me away! The level of polish in the UX, animations, and game feel are all exceptional for such a short jam. The attack queue battle system is also something I have not seen done before in this manner. My one minor quibble is that some of the text can be hard to read, and some of the symbols aren't differentiated enough from each other to tell what they are at a glance. But overall, this is easily the most ambitious game I have seen in the jam. Great work!
That's an impressive team you got there!
Loved the into. Even had an option to skip. The tutorial text was a little hard to read. I'd suggest keeping the same font size as the intro. Ton of small details and polish that we usually don't see in a jam.
I loved everything about your game the way the fights are and the sound the graphics very well done it's very challenging and fun good jobb!
W production
Best crustacean game i ever played !
This definitely doesn't feel like a game jam game, this is a whole entire regular game! I really liked the action queue system, it felt very inventive and made every turn feel like a puzzle instead of just clicking attack over and over. Definitely very hard - my run ended a few fights after the second boss - but that made it interesting. I also liked the characters involved! My only issue was that the action queue of the enemies didn't always progress like I expected, though I'm not sure if that's a bug or I just didn't understand the way it worked. Amazing job all around.
Thanks for the feedback ! Yep the game is on the hard side, it was quite challenging to balance it in that timeframe :P ! For the enemies, their attack queue progress after they end their turn :). I guess that was missing in the tutorial !
How did you four manage to develop this game in a week lol. It's very polished! The gameplay is unique and enjoyable though a bit punishing at times (I died to the last boss after three tries) and the art style and soundtrack are very fitting. This feels like a demo for a full game and you can definitely turn it into one and put it on Steam.
I'd really love to see a way to revive party members! I lost the guy that gives you mana pretty early on and felt like I missed quite a big part of the mechanics.
Thanks for the praise and suggestions ! We're aware how death is very punishing at the moment and we're thinking about ways to balance that. Death door's system from Darkest Dungeon and K.O. system from Sea of Star are good inspirations in that regard.
Love the art. A very polished game made in one week O_o
I really loved your intro and art, great entry.
Awesome game. Very cool introduction. Fun gameplay and pretty art. Good music too
