Definitely the one I played the most in this jam :) Loved the combination of a visual novel with card games mechanics for making the choices. Tough, though! Only managed to win on easy after a couple of runs. Took me a while to get the hang of the mechanics, not being very familiar with this kind of game. Nice finish, very engaging. I would have wished for an undo button a few times as well (like, spending the last action and then realizing I actually wanted to play a "gain 1 action" card first). At one point I got confused because I had 3 successful dates and still lost - because it wasn't with the same girl, misunderstood that. When you play it a dozen times, things get a little repetitive. Still very impressive given the few weeks that went into development of the game. Great job, overall!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed enough to play it multiple times until you got an ending!
I'm definitely thinking about possibly adding an undo option, although I'm trying to figure out how to do it without players relying to much on it. For example, a player could play an action to draw a card, not like the card, undo that action, and use their action on something else. You could say if a player wants to "cheat" like that, why not just let them, it is a single player game after all. But I don't know, it doesn't sit right with me. Still thinking about it.
Oh man, I’ve been playing this one for a bit. It’s tough! Took me a couple of attempts just to really grasp the mechanics, but it was real rewarding. Managing the cards and reshuffles to get the right set of cards available really adds to just building the deck. I really enjoyed it. My biggest issue is that I couldn’t tell if I could cancel moves. Instant action cards are fine, but sometimes I would accidentally click before my mouse moved all the way over and then I’d be stuck with a discard card action when I meant to click a draw card action for example. That’s my own mess up, but it would still be nice (or clear if you can and I just missed it). Overall great job! Extra shout outs for being a GameDev.tv 2023 entry. Mine wasn’t, but I submitted to that jam too.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! I had fun making the mechanics of the game so it makes me really happy to see that you found them engaging. By cancelling an action I assume you mean something like an undo button. Unfortunately, you are right that the game currently doesn't support undoing played cards, which I understand how that can be annoying. I've definitely misclicked my fair share of times during testing as well 😅 I'm currently thinking of maybe adding some small quality of life improvements to the game, now that I've received some feedback from various people. I'll add undoing a played card on the list of those quality of life improvements :)
And just to clarify, I started making the game for GameDev.tv 2023 but since I couldn't finish it in time, I didn't submit it.
I was pretty confused for the first two weeks or so but then it all made sense. Pretty nice game. I got a “reaching a love ending is impossible” which was a bit dissapointing because I felt that it was going very well with Mindy. The game is fun and looks really polished. good work on the art. As has been mentioned I think you turned the “sexy” slider a bit too high for the girls. It might be better to have more classy characters and give them more variety because the game overall seems to be very appealing for women/kids to play as well (lots of cute art on the cards etc). Overall you did a great job with this game!
This was a great game. Rizz on the ultimate level.
Feedback:
I loved the story and challenge to get an ending.
Loved the art style and aesthetic.
Real neat concept with the cards.
I enjoyed playing through and had a fun with it.
I really liked how you obtained cards at the end with your points, that was clever.
I definitely want to see more stuff like this.
I really liked when you had the mystery scenarios for extra stuff to get cards and points.
Well done!
Was cute, fun, and interesting as a dating simulator. I like the replayability of this game. I have not beaten it but Im gonna keep trying in my spare time.
Absolutely love how side things affect bonus stuff in the game. And its pretty funny. The dog poop thing for example, lovely. And the multiple responses based on availability to have the right cards - very awesome!
I have a note, but dont be offended because its gonna sound harsh but Im just telling you what would make this a perfect game for me. I think it would make more sense to class up the women a bit. I think the women are either under dressed or have gigantic elephant-sized boobs in an attempt to make them more sexually appealing. Though it is fine to give women big boobs and make them under-dressed, I dont think every woman in the game should be in one of the two categories. Women come in all varieties, just like men - so, for example, the red-headed woman would look just as fine in a button up shirt or a flannel and a cowboy hat or maybe the gothic girl wears a t-shirt with a music band logo and jeans or even a skirt that isnt flying up in the wind. Or heck, maybe the red head still keeps her outfit but it doesnt show her side-boob?! Idk...Im not saying they all have to look like the office friend, but maybe make them dress a little closer to what the average woman might wear instead of having a goal to show their bodies. At the end of the day, this suggestion might come from being a father and not wanting my daughters to display themselves that way - so dont take my comment too harsh - im assuming with a dating simulator, youre likely to hear a suggestion like this either way over time from people.
I think the appeal in this game is that its cute, unique in the game play, and maybe a little suggestive with little jokes and stuff.
I feel bad, it seems like im ragging on your game - I actually really like your game. But I feel bad playing it because the women seem sexualized visually. If you maybe added a few other women that seemed less sexualized, it might auto-balance. Again, like the game, love the game play, dont take offense to my suggestion. Im gonna follow you to see what you make of it or see other great quality games. :)
Thank you for trying out the game and enjoying it! I appreciate you leaving such a long comment, I don't fully agree but I see your point. If I were to add more girls to the game I would want to have more variety.
Funny thing is I didn't really contribute much at all to the design of the girls, me and the artist pretty much just decided upon a few stereotypes to have as characters and I just left her to draw them however she wanted, which I guess was more bodacious and revealing 😅
The artist drew them in May last year and, if I remember correctly, one of the only feedback comments I gave her was sth of the lines "can at least one of them have smaller breasts...", which I'm pretty sure turned out be Leya (your coworker in the game)
But yeah, don't worry about being harsh in your comment, I didn't take it in a bad way. Everyone has their own views on things. If we were to further develop this game we'd definitely talk more about how what kind of characters we would we have in the game and how they would look.
Again, thanks for checking out the game! I quite enjoyed developing the game mechanics for it and I'm glad you could enjoy them too! :)
This experience was really cute and fun. I really enjoyed the deck building aspect, and the illustration is quite well done! It could use more audio tracks, but that is minor. Overall a solid well polished submission.
Art is on point but the gameplay really makes the difference !
Great game, hope to see it grow even more in the future :)
Very fun to play and looks great! I couldn't stop playing until I beat it, got Leya and Mindy on the 3rd run. You did an awesome job on this!
This looks great! Love the concept!
Gonna have to replay it later again.
Good work!
Cool idea to combine a VN and a card game. The art style is unique, and I found myself strategizing and sorting through my cards without thinking about it. It feels very complete from what I played (I appreciate being able to end the run if it’s impossible to beat the game). Also makes it more enticing to restart the VN and get a different story and mess around with the cards more. Nice job!
