very beautiful art (i loved the 2d/3d mix) and an interesting mechanic! there were some bugs here and there but it didn't ruin the fun, and the ui navigation could've been better (it would be great to be able to do everything without using the mouse). overall a pretty great game!

Cool game, great mechanics, felt good to play overall. Traversing the world felt good, I do wish the camera kept up with or did a little bit of look ahead when sprinting. The identification mechanic was really cool and I also liked the mix of 2d and 3d. I wish it was easier to spot mushrooms in the wild, maybe you could have a button that sends out a pulse or causes nearby mushrooms to flash and just have that on a cooldown or something, like a hint button. I think all interaction should have either been e or space and not sometimes e and sometimes space. I was a bit confused by the text that said 1 mushroom left each time I interacted with a mushroom, seems like it could have been a more streamlined process, also with two buttons serving the purpose of taking or leaving a mushroom. Trying to figure out where I could walk was challenging sometimes but I think it lends itself to the game because walking around in a forest is much the same. I love the little world you crafted. I know there are divots or alcoves where you can traverse to the next map but it might be helpful to have some more indication a path continues off screen, though this was plenty, I just feel like it could be more visible.

The pixel art is stellar! The sketchy/hand drawn look of the foraging guide was very charming as well. Ran into one bug where I tried to go to a different room but kept ending back up in the same spot but otherwise the game worked great. Excellent work!

Art is great, overall idea is cool, too! Foraging mushrooms is a great cozy activity and I like it here! 3D mushroom inspector in a 2D world is a really clever idea, which I really liked! Unfortunately, after giving in mushrooms after first day the ui for mushroom and day count disappeared:( It did not matter too much in the end tho, awesome job on this one!

Very cute game and concept. Was pretty easy to tell what mushrooms were edible without having to do much detailed examining, but it seems like it could be a really satisfying puzzle with more mushroom variety. Loved the style, (though Pax did stand out quite a bit among the other colors in the palette... but maybe that is a good thing to make them stand out!), and mix of 2D and 3D with the mushy renders.

Nice work! <3

We're actually planning on adding more mushrooms to make identification more tricky! We just couldn't get around to adding as many as we'd like but we're going to flesh this one into a full release.

This is a really interesting concept! I like the mix of 2D for traversal and 3D for examining the mushrooms. I ran into two bugs though which cut my play through short.

First I had issues with the game crashing right after the main menu popped up after the disclaimer
Second after interacting with a mushroom my controls locked (I'm guessing the player got stuck in the dialogue state?)

I think it just needs a bit of polish! Definitely a unique concept and has lots of potential!

Hey! Just so you're aware, we released an update that should probably fix the title screen and input bugs!

I'm a bit uncertain about what's happening, but I believe this game has potential. However, it seems to crash for me at the main menu.

Developer

We've issued a fix in 0.3a that will (hopefully!) prevent that from happening anymore!

The game crashes for me as well. Using Windows 11 (freshly installed yesterday). I was already looking forward to learning stuff about mushrooms so I can go collect them irl! xD

Hey! We issued a fix in 0.3a, in theory keeping it from closing on the title for certain users.

Thank you! I was able to play it now and I had fun. I really liked the art and the dithering style of the game. also of course the 3d models and drawings of the mushrooms. :)

I really like the art style and how it tells you some neat information about the mushrooms you're foraging! There did seem to be a bug where when I picked up a mushroom that was too young the game wouldn't allow me to keep walking and I had to go back to the main menu. Luckily the game had saved my progress :) Overall it had a nice vibe.

The game crashes the second I press a key. Please fix this.

Developer

The issue should be fixed in 0.3a.

This has a very nice style, and the map looks beautiful! But I wish there's a map system or better signage to guide where to go, because I was completely lost and it took me way more time trying to find my way back to Celeste than the foraging itself! Otherwise, it's quite nice :) —Jay
