the game is played in reverse. it starts at the game over screen, persumably after another player ragequit, and moves backward in time back to the start of the game

How many hours did it take to code this game?
I'm not sure exactly how much time I spent on this game but I'd say it was about 6-8 hours over 2 days
Nice concept. Loved it. It would better if you mark the ball which is player and which is a shadow type thing of it. Kinda confusing to understand controls. Overall awesome idea.

yeah I made the game in a couple hours so I didnt have time to properly set up a tutorial or instructions. Oops!

Awesome game!! I was really surprised that the game started with "Game Over." Actually I'd not understand how jump works, but go backward gimmicks are really cool and I love it!!! I hope you have a plan that update more puzzles and maybe, stories? It will be great!
A really cool and innovative platformer.
Pros: to me, this is a near-perfect jam entry, and if you had been able to spend the full week on it I think it would be a perfect 5 across the board. It uses the theme in an unexpected way, it introduces a completely unique mechanic, it takes just enough time to fully sell that mechanic, and it's just challenging enough to feel like a game. The graphics are simplistic but they work for the design, the gameplay is smooth and the platforming feels decently polished.
Cons: some backgrounds and graphics beyond just default shapes would have been nice even if they were still very simplistic, the need to jump when you land isn't explained in the game anywhere (it's explained on the page so it's not a huge deal but some instructions/tutorial would have been nice), I really wish you would have had time for some music and SFX
Overall given you only spent one day on it this is a hella impressive entry and I would love to see what you can do with a full week.

That was very fun, especially for a game submitted only a day into the jam. It would have been great if it was a little longer, but I understand if you didn't have time because of other things or if you just wanted to challenge yourself to a one day build.

The concept is creative. You could add some more explaination, though, so people wont get confused for too long.
This is totally mind-bending! It was awesome to see how the game worked around and trying to understand it. The confusion seemed to be the charm of this game and is the reason why I enjoyed it so much. It was specially rewarding and satisfying to see the final part (which is actually the very beginning if it was not backwards) and see the title logo there. Amazing game!
