Really liked this game! I really liked the old-style 2D pixel game, but I was a little lost and didn't know I could get electrocuted in the game lol. Great effort for the jam!

Yeah! I’m glad you made it to qualifications :D You made all of this yourself, you really deserve it. I liked the narrative and the simple gameplay, I could really see it fleshed out as a complete game with different reactions depending if you talked to people before hand and stuff you know. Like “Oh, your brought me my favorite flower! How did you know?” stuff like that. Great job!

Nice game with a good mood. The cave need perhaps more space to jump easily. You can use lights/objects to have different ambiances and make it more memorable. When it's dark, it could be interesting to just have a light halo around the character.
I did not finish the game, it is perhaps too long for a jam.
Overall the concept is great, and the story feels promising. Well done.

Very cute game! The tiles and character art are nicely done. Something that could be improved to make the environment in the cave part more diverse, so that it would be easier to find your way around, because I kept getting lost. For example, a large stone that I will remember to turn left there. Also, the jump. It happened in several places that I wanted to jump from the very edge of the block while running, but the character did not jump. A 0.1 second tolerance would be good.
One more thing, I found a cheat. If I exit to the menu and back, I return to the starting point, but keep the objects I have taken. This can shorten the return journeys.

All in all, nice work. Keep it up!

Yeah I forgot to add coyote time. The thought of making the cave more diverse didn't even cross my mind when making the tilemap, so yeah I wouldn't of had time to add that towards the end

Cool game! The writing for the characters goes a long way, and I dig the assets (especially you're sweet pompadour lol). I do wish the window for success was a little wider. With the cave system looking sort of same-y throughout, it's super easy to lose a good chunk of time taking a wrong path even if you've been there before. Overall though, I like it! Neat concept. ^-^

pretty cool, I like having to remember all the steps. The window seems pretty tight but managed on the 4th loop

The calm was basically the 1st and 2nd loop and then the storm was 3rd and 4th trying to remember all the cave paths in time lol

Couldn't finish the game but enjoyed it played 3-4 loops found some gem in a three lock chamber. Will finish once it is possible. Really cute graphics and art and music. One criticism would be the music volume is so low.

I have not completed the game yet but I kind of enjoyed it. I think the visuals are really nice and the story is quite interesting as well. I think it’s a bit weird that you can die in the cave. Also once I had to press ‘E’ to unlock the cave although the lock wasn’t there (visible). Anyway… Good job! I enjoyed it!

Yeah, originally the cave would flood but I'm not kidding when I say this but death was added like 5 minutes before the deadline lol

and the cave door bug was a problem with my state machine

Very good atmosphere! I liked the exploration, and the little animations on the character. On my third try I got onto the boat and was leaving, but the lightning struck anyway. When it's raining, it's really hard to see anything in the cave so it's very easy to lose a minute or two there.

The boat takes ten seconds and I think I was a little harsh with my time constraints; happens when you get used to the difficulty of your own game

The shortest time it takes to beat the game is 4:30 seconds, and the total time allowed is 5:00, so that would have been something to improve on for me

And a lot of people have mentioned the rain; making the loop longer would have resulted in it not being night time when the rain started, allowing for a significantly easier time when getting out of the cave.

Nice short exploration game! I got the ruby after some item trades exploration but I still got killed by the lightning. I might try this again sometime.

It's a fun high quality game (given the short time provided to make it). It's not my type of game but I still enjoyed playing it. The only thing I have is that jumping in the mines during the rain was a disorienting because of the high particle density against dark background.

I don't think that the rain dark background was truly the problem, rather that there was ZERO coyote time lol

So... Lightning kills. My hair does not move so slick when I run or jump... And... Apparently, the guy below me likes kids.
Jokes aside I enjoyed this little adventure until I got slapped with a bolt of lightning inside a cave by some red thing. Love the char you plays art style. Love the way he moves, feels really fluid. Keep it up. Fun little game

Thanks for the comment about the fluidity of the characters movements, that'll help me with sprite work on future, way more fleshed out projects. As mentioned above, the cave was supposed to flood originally, but I made the lightning literally 5 minutes before submitting the game
