Heh cute little RTS/City builder game. But nothing happens when i finished the tutorial and built all the buildings. Also i don't see how this game fits in to the "boss rush" category in anyway. I haven't seen a single boss and i don't think there are bosses in RTS/City builder games. Not very relevant game to this jam in my opinion but still you did a good job for creating a basic RTS,  that's something. Nice work!

Thank you for playing! The bosses spawn the morning after you place around 20 buildings so you have a bit of time to get soldiers. Its not the cleanest solution but I kept finding that players would end up getting killed during the tutorial otherwise.

Huh, I didn’t think I’d see a full-on city builder this jam. I’m not super familiar with this genre so I don’t have a ton of feedback. I ran into a few issues, like my soldiers mostly just stood around when the boss came in. I saw the tutorial mentioned to click on a soldier to assign them, but when I tried that nothing seemed to happen. It was pretty funny to have a bunch of barracks with spearmen just hanging out while the boss slowly walked past them (I think only one spearman fought for me) and then killed my king lol.

This is neat though! I’m not sure it fits my idea of a ‘boss rush’ in my mind. I haven’t played many city builders but I was pretty impressed by how many interconnected systems there were in this game.

Thank you for playing! Yeah the soldier stuff is the part of the game I'm least happy with, if I decide to make this as a full game I'll definitely overhaul it.

This is great! I've bounced off a lot of city builders and RTS games in the past because they're so complicated, but this hits the spot. I agree with others that the text is too small, and playing in fullscreen the item / building popups are too far away - mouseover a building at the bottom, the text popup is near top left!! A small complaint, though! Also, night time seems to come too quickly, and is reeaally dark. For anyone else playing, remember you can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel.

I did well by adding a bunch of mines at the beginning to make sure I had the gold to keep building military buildings and units, which goes a long way to keeping you going when the big guys arrive.

Well done!

Thank you for  playing!!!! It means a lot. Yeah the night mechanic needs some work and I will fix the text size as soon as the jam is over! :)

Its a world builder... not really boss rush or anything particular for exchange theme 3/5

Developer

Did you play long enough to fight the bosses? They don't spawn until you place a certain number of buildings so you don't get killed  while doing the tutorial.

sorry I did not get too far I can only give so much time to each game, and if this is so it took me a minute to understand what was going on and it doesn't say anything of the game. It's just how these things go, I know how overly critical people can be in these jams when people spent lots of time and effort on their little games/demos. All that being said I did rate your game pretty high with an average 3.5/5 which is better than most I rated in the jam ! Good job!

Developer

That's okay!!! Thank you for playing :))

Full city builder?

Everything seem too small, text need double size.

I did't finish build house and it's night time  lol

Too many system for a boss rush game.

Can I buld multiple building at once? click to buy everytime is tiring.

Gonna comeback to try again soon XD

Developer

Thank you for playing! You can place multiple at the same time by pressing space instead of clicking :). Sorry about the text, will be one of the first updates when the jam is over.

Props for doing an RTS for a game jam! Great art style. I think I ran into a bug where I can't assign a soldier. Wasn't sure how to highlight units either so didn't get passed the initial tutorial of setting down buildings.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah I definitely need to make it a little clearer when it comes to soldiers.

Hooray for an RTS! Scaling the text would be super helpful for my screen (bad eyesight?) Hard to see but appreciate the scope.

Developer

Ahhh sorry about the text size, it's definitely something I will look into as UI isnt my strong point in Godot. Cheers for playing :)

Wow amazed at the scope, super cool you were able to build an RTS game with building development, all the AI characters, etc in a month. Minor nit, but during the night time, I would have loved more lights around the city / your units!

Developer

Yeah fleshing out night time is definitely something ill work on when I update it. Thank you for playing!!

Assigning troops to squad was a bit harsh
Overall quite cosy ! :)

I don't like RTS but I actually enjoyed building a city and defeating bosses with my soldiers, great game 10/10

Developer

thanks for playing!

Pretty interesting concept, I think the tutorial should be a little more fleshed out and a little more polish would make this game very enjoyable.

Developer

Yeah definitely, thank you for playing!!

It has many systems, it is difficult to learn them to start playing. I prefer an experience with fewer systems.

I don't think I have ever seen an RTS boss rush game before, so this is a really creative take! The economy seems very deep, but I don't think the tutorial quite explained everything that was going on. And I couldn't figure out how to get the soldiers assigned to my squad. But overall, this is an interesting start!
