Such a great game. I've discovered it after the jam, but still played it. The story is very good and some dialogs were very funny. Also fits the theme so much.

Thanks so much!

Glad to see someone still enjoying it after the jam. I'm really happy you liked it!

Edit: I played Mr pancake, really unique idea, loved it

Thanks.

Nice visuals! The text would get all wonky for me sometimes and then the continue button would not show up so I would have to start over. Weird bug?

Developer( 1)

Yeah... I thought I'd fixed that but apparently it still shows up occasionally. I'm going to try and fix that once the jam is over.

A very cool little story! I like the visual presentation of it :)

So bad the music doesn't work :(

Cheers!

Art style and visuals were super cool! Very cinematic. Also you got an awesome logo for the game. Wish I could've heard the music, but still an enjoyable experience overall. Also I wish the text speed was a little faster, but I'm probably just impatient. Anyways great job!

I loved your art style and the kind of aspect ratio you chose. It just felt like a story being told to me. Some music and sound would have made it even better. If you feel like adding some flair, please check 2D Bloom from Brackeys. It's a great addition. This was a really great game for your first game jam. I am still struggling to add dialogue to my game. Thanks for this game!

Please consider playing and rating my game as well. Thanks!! Cheers!!!

Thanks so much! The art was what I was most worried about (generally terrible at it) but the magic of post-processing came through!

I actually did have some bloom, but it was a little too subtle I guess.

I followed BTP's dialogue tutorial then tweaked it a little to get the system I have here.

Unfortunately, the music in the game seems not to be working... I think it may be to do with the web version (it worked in the initial downloadable version I had, which I took down without testing the web version like a moron)

Your game was awesome. I left a comment on your page, but suffice to say, one of my favorites from this jam.

I appreciate the feedback!

The art style is so pretty. I would've really enjoyed background music and some talking SFX to compliment the art.

Developer

Thanks so much!

I actually have music, but unfortunately it seems not to be working. Not sure why yet :/

This is a cool game! but is it just me or is the offset of the game a little off? I can't read what is being said in the canvas even when I am in full screen mode.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks!

Not sure about the screen size though... haven't heard of any other issues like this. However, I may have missed something with the scaling settings. Apologies for that, I'll try and rectify it once the jam is over.

Hi! I really liked the look of the game, and enjoyed the small story you told. I think it would have been an interesting change to have the player chose whether or not they want to talk to each of the characters, maybe with a little button prompt. I feel that adding that choice would make the moments where the characters tell the player they didn't have to talk to them a little more weight. I also wish that the path the player walked was actually on the dunes that form the background, that little discontinuity made the walking feel a little strange.

Overall this was a very enjoyable experience! Thanks for making it!

Wouldn't load for me, sorry m8. But it looks pretty cool

sorry but it does nothing but i like the visuals

I realy realy realy like the visuals; this game is beautiful to look at, specially at full screen. The story and dialogue could use some work; I think the game would benefit from having a payoff for the "so I didn't had to talk to you?" thing, like in the end the sun reflecting that he enjoyed having those talks that he didn't need to (showing some character development), for example

Developer

Thanks very much!

It looked really crummy until a couple hours before submission when I added a bunch of post-processing.

I tried to give the player some agency at the end; the choice is meant to give the player the option to develop the character or not. Maybe I should have just made it linear with the 'correct' option (ie the one with development) being the path?

nice little story game. You executed what you were trying to achieve perfectly! well done!!

Cute story! Like you mentioned in a comment the audio seems to not be working? Overall a really pleasant experience :)

Very fun small package game! it could use a bit of a stronger connection to the theme but i still loved it, maybe music would be nice

Developer

thanks, as I mentioned below the music seems not to be working. Very unfortunate as I think it added a lot to the game.

I understood what you are going for and I dig it. But the sound and some dialogue options were bugged for me so I couldn't experience the whole thing. I would recommend you to publish another fixed version.

I don't like anonymous votes so here is my rating for the game.

Keep up the good work!

Really lovely! The minimal visuals and storytelling is very well done, I wouldn't mind some music or even just some ambient sounds. But overall it's a gem!

Developer (1 edit)

Oh no!

the music isn't working.... very annoying. It's supposed to be this kind of a slightly discordant organy-type thing. Didn't do SFX though

I'll keep it in mind for next time.

Cute and charming, with a good natured humour and an almost wholesome theme. Reminds me (and I'm sure a lot of others) of Journey, in a favourable way.  Very pleasant.

Developer

Thanks very much!

I definitely took inspiration from Journey. I think it has a great vibe.
