THE GOOD PARTS

  • The ambiance was superb! I still have the game running just because of the BGM. It’s mesmerizing and I think achieving that in a jam entry is no easy feat!

  • The idea of the game was well put together. I think that this idea was fun to play, some interactions felt a little bit unpredictable at first (like the android turning in some corners when it should have gone forward a little bit and then returned) but at least the game kept it cohesive and it was just a matter of getting used to it. The same thing goes for swimming because you can’t cheat it; I enjoyed the consistency a lot because it helped me see THE solution and not just my attempt at forcing a solution that wasn’t really the correct one.

  • The duration is perfect for a jam. I enjoyed the duration of the game; 9 levels is enough to enjoy the gameplay and all the features that were presented here without it becoming tedious. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

THE BAD PARTS

[My section of BAD PARTS for this game is going to be filled with subjective opinions; objectively, I don’t see anything wrong with the game save for the small detail I mentioned about some corners looking like you were going to go forward and then turn around].

  • The game feels a little bit too passive. Save for the last level; I KNOW the game actually requires you to pay attention and plan ahead at all times which keeps you engaged, but sometimes when I had the solution and all I had to do was wait it felt a little bit boring. Luckily the fast-forward buttons were there to save the day but interacting with them was a little bit clunky. Maybe mapping them to the arrow keys or something that allows you to quickly toggle the fast-forward on and off would do the trick here.

CONCLUSION

This game owns the ambiance department! You should seriously play this if you want to feel like you’re in outer space: the music, the ambiance, and the gameplay all tie together in a well-put light puzzle game that will keep you entertained for 10-20 minutes if you go for all the collectibles (which you should).

It’s an excellent jam entry and I think it’s going to do quite well in the ratings! I loved it!

this game is very fun with an interesting take on the theme! Could easily be expanded into a commercial game :D! The music fits in really well and is very chill! Good work!

Great art,  music and sound FX - everything works together perfectly.

Puzzles were pretty tough - the camera free mode was my friend, without it, I wouldn't have been able to solve even one of them :-)

Good game! And great theme - Space & Saturn  - perfect match.

This game was really fun and unique. A very clever take on the robot control genre!

Amazing execution on the theme and restrictions! Beautiful music that really fits the mood and environment. I LOVE the occasional planets and ships/satellites passing by in the background, a nice touch. I got pretty stumped on how to get a few helmets on 4 (for sure) and 6 (I think), so I didn't end up finishing all of the levels. There is a slightly irritating text bug that I'm sure you're aware of - the whole dialogue line flashes before it begins to type out. Regardless of these issues, it's a great game with great design and clearly has effort and care poured into it. Nice work!

Thank you! We're very glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, we did not have time to fix the text bug. We're planning to polish it (and others) post jam.

My first impression was great: The ambient music really captured the eary yet calm and cold atmospher, and the color palette and art - wow! great sensory images.

This is a very cool concept. The music and graphics really added to the eerieness of the story. Using the cube as both a plot device and the puzzle itself was very innovative and has a lot of potential for possible expansion. The plot about the cube distorting time also plays well to the game mechanic of speeding up the robot, so that was very well done.

I do however think that some of the levels could've been designed better. I'm thinking mostly about level 3, where I managed to collect all 3 items without taking any game actions, just letting the robot run by itself. And in a few other places, all I had to do is leave the robot running and turn back right before it reached the flag to collect the remaining items. In general, the levels felt like they led to more of a brute force approach instead of a carefully considered one. But I understand that given the time constraint, possibly some simplifications were made.

if anything it leaving the game running and letting it play it self proves two things.

1. Valid strategy

2 . The map is indeed a loop with multiple junctions( kirchhoff loop law . The sum of all points is zero.)  In other words if you let it run you can go to all points in the map and loop back to zero.

Does this make a rubix cube less fun and less complex to play because you can apply this logic ( algorithm) and eventually solve it.

Ah OK I didn't think about any sort of conservation laws, that does indeed add a new dimension to this game. I hope I didn't come across as too negative in my review. I gave the game a very good rating.

The art is lovely and the levels are very well made! I was surprised by the amount of dialogue but it's well written so it's not a problem at all! Good game!

Developer

Thank you! The dialog was mine (and proofreading by Robin) so I am glad you liked it.

Nice work here! Love the art and overall atmosphere! The learning curve is smooth and the story unveils little by little. To be honest, I've been through the first 4 levels, then I got lazy. Not my kind of game though.

Thank you for playing!

Very cool puzzle game! I love the artwork. If I have one critique it is that the movement rules are rather unclear at first.

Thank you. We've added a better description on the page.
