Runs fine on my machine. I liked the atmosphere in the game, very spooky.

I would say, the character movement was quite slow and the door were quite aggressive. I did manage to locked the doors and read the note, however I couldn't get passed the shadow, it kept catching me. I tried several times, but I couldn't get any further.

Looks great though, nice job! :)

I managed to get it running smoothly on another PC with a better graphics card.

The atmosphere was quite  intriguing. One thing was quite challenging: the doors! Haha. They kept pushing my character around, leading to a few deaths!

Despite this, visually, the game is quite pleasing, although the character design leans towards a minimalist style.

My only minor gripe is that I wish the character could move a bit faster.

Man I was so bummed I couldn't figure out a solution for door collisions in time, glad you were able to finish though. I will for sure refine the player movement as well, thanks for playing and helpful feedback!

This game starts off looking cool! an interesting title screen animation helps with the intrigue. I go into the game, and the story starts off dark, and then I get in the game, and am confused on what I'm supposed to do. I then realise that I need to interact with stuff, so I go around interacting until I pick up the paper that turns out to be homework to pass out to the students. But since I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else, the biggest issue with the game is the lack of guiding the player. You have to guess a lot, and if there was some guides, it would be a lot easier to understand. another thing is that the player is kinda slow, so upping the speed  would be good. Also, even on the title screen, my RX 6750 XT (roughly equivalent to a RTX 3070 in power) is at 60-70% usage according to task manager and 95-99% in game, so I'm curious if any sort of testing thing was missed that's causing this. But, I don't want to end on that, so I'll say this: This has a lot of potential. I personally want to see this game do well, because that story is actually really cool! Good luck in your future games, and I'm also sorry if this seemed too harsh :)

No this is not too harsh, exactly the criticism I was looking forward to. There is a lot of stuff that I want to add, so I haven't even scratched the surface, but optimization is number one on the list at this point. I learned a lot from creating this, but have a ton more to learn. Glad you enjoyed the story, thanks so much for the honest response!

You're welcome! I try to be honest but I get worried if I sound too harsh :) honestly learning is one of the most important parts of game development, and I found this out a while into making games. I bet if you continue with this, It could be really cool! Good Luck!

On my Linux PC, it runs at about 3 FPS. The same PC can run all the other 3D games I rated, some of which look more demanding. Therefore, I have not yet rated it.

So my tip would be to think about performance/optimization at least a little.

I'll give it a try on my Windows machine later (which has a better graphics card)

Thanks for your feedback. There's not really an excuse for it to run poorly on lower end machines, I will definitely have to work on that. I will have to set up a Linux machine in the future for testing and practicing optimization. That's very useful information, thank you!

Thanks ascents! Since other Godot games run well,I'm not sure if it's the fact that it is Linux. My guess would be the shader and/or the amount of shadow-casting objects. (and the lack of a decent graphics card on my end xD)

Hey, I just played through the whole game, It's some sort of issue on the games side. My graphics card (an RX 6750XT, roughly as good as a 3070) was not doing so well (it was at ~90% usage), although the game ran well for me, if you were curious. (Sorry, dev!)

i could get into the game, but after the first screen of the cutscene with the teacher explaining his wife died it crashed my virual machine

Hey, thanks for trying! I'm not quite sure why the crash occurred, I tried running it on as many machines as I could without any problems. What VM are you using? Maybe I can replicate the issue to find out where I went wrong. Thanks!
