The MICHELIN Guide is the international reference for restaurants and hotels for discerning travellers looking for high quality, memorable experiences! Brainchild of brothers André and Edouard Michelin – founders of the tyre company of the same name – The MICHELIN Guide's aim is to support all travellers in their mobility experiences by offering them a selection of the best places to eat and stay. Each year, their famous team of anonymous inspectors travel the world in search of top-quality establishments that represent the local area and bring travel destinations to life. The MICHELIN Guide selections are produced by an international team of independent industry observers, whose curiosity and expertise unveil and promote the ability and personality of talented chefs, whose restaurants they discover for the benefit of the readers of The MICHELIN Guide. Within its selection of restaurants, the best-of-the-best are awarded One to Three MICHELIN Stars for the exceptional quality of their cuisine. Bib Gourmands are awarded to great value restaurants offering simple yet skilful cooking. And MICHELIN Green Stars highlight role model restaurants committed to a sustainable approach. The MICHELIN Guide's ethos regarding hotels is the same as that of its restaurants: to recommend only unique establishments that stand out for their comfort, personality and uniqueness. Selected by our hotel experts, these 6,000 establishments invite you to travel the world. The MICHELIN Guide has always adapted to the habits of its readers. As such, the entire selection is now available free of charge on the app (iOS & Android), the website (www.guide.michelin.com) and, for some regions, as the iconic paper guide. The Michelin Inspectors also share their experiences across many social networks, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & YouTube. The MICHELIN Guide is now present in nearly 40 destinations and offers a selection of more than 20,000 restaurants and around 6,000 hotels.
