As explained by Prof. Carlo Altomonte, this is a world premiere in the field of managerial training. It is an achievement that opens new opportunities and pathways in research and innovation, which are fundamental pillars of SDA Bocconi University. Following the results obtained with the participants of the EMBA master through the "Mind The Deep" research protocol presented by Silvia Pozzi, the experience has also been offered to the participants of the Leadership course directed by Massimo Magni. This is a fully immersive experience aimed at neuro-enhancing executive brain functions, increasing self-awareness, and stress management. This extraordinary outcome is the result of a team effort in which I have been involved for over a year, alongside Rosarita Gagliardi and Silvia Pozzi, the neuroscientists from IRCan, IrcCAN - International Research Center for Cognitive Applied Neuroscience and the technical-scientific committee of human resources facilitators from AFRU coordinated by VEGA Consultancies. The challenge was to transfer the mental training methodology "Deep Inside - state of mind," which I have been using for years with athletes and Olympic teams, to managers who are now called upon to perform in increasingly complex and articulated conditions. The training employs water with micro-apnea immersion and varying breathing techniques, which have proven to be effective tools. Encouraged by the scientific results and the feedback received from top managers who have personally tried this methodology, it becomes a new and powerful tool that companies can propose in the training of their managers. Apulia Call to Action Apulia stands proudly as the third most economically significant region in Southern Italy, accounting for a staggering 19.4% of the South's GDP. Notably, over half of the region's exports (53.4%) are driven by cutting-edge sectors such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and ICT. Yet, challenges persist. High unemployment rates, declining birth rates, and continual emigration to other regions or abroad have cast shadows over its growth prospects. I left Puglia, my homeland, eight years ago for study and now for work. I look to the future with optimism and hope that the measures put in place by politicians will develop a holistic and dynamic ecosystem. Proud of this achievement, perhaps the last on this journey. 🥇 From the Ipsos Italia analysis to #marketscouting activity for #targetcompanies susceptible to #acquisition, we tried to imagine the growth strategy starting from the management's indications. We carried out an in-depth analysis of the #strategicassets, #criticalsuccess factors, and #financialkpi of a sector with rather low #growthmargins, in a #complexmarket where the competitive advantage lies in people skills and software efficiency. It was an important training to test whether my passion for M&A #processes had a positive effect in practice. Thx to Sante Maiolica Nicola Neri Andrea Verrua for choosing us as the winners.
Oggi, completando il Business Game in collaborazione con Ipsos, abbiamo concluso il ciclo di lezioni di Corporate Strategy in grande stile. 100 studenti, organizzati in 14 Gruppi di lavoro, hanno provato a definire la growth strategy di una delle più grandi aziende al mondo nel settore delle ricerche di mercato, analisi di opinione e consulenza strategica. Il risultato? Stupefacente! Stupefacenti le idee, i contenuti, le riflessioni e gli spunti. Insomma: tanti talenti pronti ad emergere, tanti i CV richiesti da Ipsos a fine corso! Sono orgoglioso del progetto, dei lavori svolti e di tutti gli studenti coinvolti. Ovviamente complimenti al gruppo vincitore (M&A Strategy). Great lesson learned from Università di Trento Mentoring Program 2022-23 for mentees and mentors. I had the privilege to serve as mentor to graduating international students facing the transition from completing univ studies and entering the global workforce. A few takeaways from my experience: - Finding our place in the world as authorized citizen and worker after the studies it is a very hard transition. Is it beyond finding a job. Fundamental stability of securing residence, minimum income are not learned in class. I saw my past experience reflected by the mentees and it was great to share how we all deal differently. - Seek, engage, and nurture relationships with supporting networks. Universities, and national and regional programs offer professional support. Make use of them, they have been purposely established and staffed to help. - Don't underestimate physical and mental strength. Energy is not infinite and we all need to recharge our batteries, constantly. Identify stressors and just manage them. - Completing exams, preparing and defending the thesis, burning late ours and skipping resting time can easily become a vicious circle that compounds anxiety and fatigue. They diminish our capabilities, manage your time. - Set and respect your priorities, build a plan. Note that goals will change over time. Have transition plans as well. - Find your pace growing discipline. It is like breathing while swimming, your goal is to advance while not skipping breathing. Do your laps, all is so natural at the end. - There is always room to learn, from everybody and everywhere, any time. I have learned from my peer mentors, and the mentees, collegues, partners, customers.. the more angles the more learning, the better and stronger we become. Thank you Haidi Garulli for the excellent program directorship and all mentors, mentees, researchers and professional mentors and coaches. This has been a gift. Looking forward to contributing more at the next UniTN Mentoring semester.
