What would the Olympic Games be without communication?
In this context, we have been involved in the structural engineering of the new village that will host the media teams, with at least 1,500 journalists expected to attend. After the Games, the recently completed site will become a neighbourhood of 1,400 homes with 1,000 m2 of local shops and school and sports facilities.
It includes 518 houses and 396 parking spaces. Divided into six lots according to the garden city principle, the architectural coherence is expressed through the dominant use of solid brick and the buildings' morphological diversity.
The project aims at the ecological goal of being carbon neutral by 2050. It also includes a high proportion of landscaped areas, with planting in the open ground and on flat roofs. The project was possible thanks to Ametis Groupe and Société de Livraison des Ouvrages Olympiques - SOLIDEO.

Bopro was assigned the QS mission as part of the demolition and reconstruction phase of the Luxia project. Why is Quantity Surveying (QS) important?
💰Cost Management: QS plays a crucial role in managing the project's costs. They are responsible for estimating the quantities and costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for the project. By accurately assessing the costs, QS helps in budgeting and cost control throughout the project.
⚛️ Tendering and Procurement: QS assists in the tendering process by preparing bills of quantities and tender documents. They evaluate and compare bids from contractors, ensuring that the project receives competitive pricing and value for money. QS also helps in negotiating contracts and managing the procurement process.
👷♀️Value Engineering: QS identifies opportunities for value engineering, which involves finding cost-effective alternatives without compromising the project's quality or functionality. They analyze different options, assess their costs and benefits, and provide recommendations to optimize the project's value.
💲Cost Control: QS monitors and controls costs throughout the project's lifecycle. They track expenses, assess variations and change orders, and ensure that the project stays within the approved budget. QS also provides cost forecasts and reports to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
⚠️Risk Management: QS helps in identifying and managing risks related to costs. They assess potential cost risks, such as price fluctuations, inflation, and unforeseen expenses, and develop strategies to mitigate them. QS also provides contingency planning and cost estimates for potential risks.
📕Financial Reporting: QS prepares financial reports and cost statements for the project. They provide accurate and transparent information on costs, expenditures, and financial performance, facilitating financial management and reporting to stakeholders.
📝 Contract Administration: QS assists in contract administration, including assessing progress payments, valuing variations, and resolving disputes related to costs. They ensure that the project adheres to contractual obligations and that all parties are treated fairly in terms of costs and payments.

Incredible new station for Rome’s third underground line: VENEZIA!✨👏🏻
This is an incredible progress for the Italian Capital and will greatly benefit the millions of people visiting the city every year!
Having spent over 20 years of my life in Rome, I perfectly understand that viability is a massive issue!
Expanding the subway system in Rome can be challenging for several reasons. One significant factor is the city's rich archaeological heritage.
Rome is built on layers of history, and every time construction begins, there's a potential for unearthing ancient ruins or artifacts, which requires careful excavation and preservation.
Additionally, Rome's dense urban layout, with narrow streets and a high concentration of historical buildings, makes it difficult to construct new underground stations without disrupting the city's architectural and cultural integrity.
There are also logistical challenges related to engineering, financing, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
Lastly, bureaucratic processes, environmental concerns, and public opinion can all play a role in slowing down or complicating the approval and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects like expanding the subway system.
We are excited that the new Cascina Merlata station, a project signed by 3TI Progetti, in the centre of #Milan is finally about to be completed.
According to Roberto Arsuffi, "3TI Progetti signed a new contract with Arexpo last year for the technical and economic feasibility design of the new 'Milano MIND-Merlata' station along the Milano-Domodossola railway. The new station will rise under the pedestrian overpass called 'MIC' - Passerella MIND-Cascina Merlata built for the expo."

#sustainabledesign Doesn't this look like your apartment building? For being 800 years old, it still looks good.
You have to appreciate science in architecture. Where ever there's limestone, the Templars could build with mortar.
If there was a GAPScore in 1200a.d., it would have been assessed at the dark green level.
It doesn't GAPScore that well today. It doesn't matter how old or large or history, the green potential has always mattered.
