⚡ Edison seals #PPA for solar power from #Italian PV parks ⚡ Italian energy supplier Edison SpA (BIT:EDNR) has signed a power off-take deal with solar developer Chiron Energy that will support the construction of five photovoltaic (PV) parks in Northern Italy. The power purchase agreement (PPA) calls for Edison to procure the plants’ entire power production and related guarantees of origin for up to 10 years, the energy supplier said. The solar farms will be installed in the Lombardy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions and will have a combined average estimated output of about 50 GWh annually. The generation will be equal to the electricity consumption of 19,000 homes per year. The PV parks are planned to go online in the first half of 2025. 🌍 Stepping across borders: Supporting Italy's climate targets with Adriatic Link Siemens Energy continues to support Italy’s ambitions of reaching net-zero targets by contributing to the expansion of the grid via our recent #HVDC contract win of #AdriaticLink. We have secured a contract to provide technical equipment and the turnkey supply of the two converter stations for Adriatic Link, a major energy infrastructure project in Italy from our partner Terna SpA. Supplied with our state-of-the-art HVDC PLUS technology, the 250 km long connection will enable the exchange of up to 1,000 MW of energy between the north and south of Italy, and thus will strengthen the stability and security of the grid. ⚡ As Italy aims to meet its 2030 climate targets, including a 55% reduction in emissions, Adriatic Link will be important in supporting the nation's renewable energy goals. With the growing share of #renewables in Italy's electricity generation, this project will support the efficient integration of these energy sources. Step by step, we move with our partners towards the connectivity of the grid.

In agricultural area you can Install Agrivoltaic Systems, and for ground are permissible under specific conditions as below. The heart of this legislative revolution lies in Article 5, which introduces a new paragraph 1-bis to Article 20 of Legislative Decree 199/2021. This pivotal change outlines the conditions under which ground-mounted photovoltaic installations are permitted in agricultural zones: - 𝑬𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏: Existing installations can undergo modifications or upgrades without increasing their footprint. - 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑼𝒏𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔: Photovoltaic systems are allowed on lands once occupied by quarries and mines, now dormant. - 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔: Areas under the jurisdiction of railway, highway, or airport authorities are suitable for solar installations. - 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒓 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑰𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆: A novel approach allowing installations within 500 meters of industrial plants, termed as the “Solar Plant Bel.” - 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔: Agricultural lands within 300 meters of highways are also eligible for photovoltaic projects. 🛡️ Safeguarding Progress: The decree ensures the continuation of: Projects aimed at establishing Renewable Energy Communities (CER), initiatives under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), and ongoing. ps. As the decree moves through Parliament, amendments are expected within the next 60 days.

During Italgas’ mission to Tokyo, I had the honor of meeting Mr. Shinichi Kihara, Director-General for International Policy on Carbon Neutrality at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Our discussions revealed that Japan and Italy share a similar vision for achieving carbon neutrality: instead of following a single approach, we are exploring various pathways that recognize the value of diverse energy carriers and technologies. Embracing a technologically neutral approach means enabling the existing infrastructure to support the energy transition through the increasing injection of renewable gases into our network, achievable through innovation and digitized solutions. Synthetic methane, biomethane, and hydrogen represent the future. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Shinichi Kihara for providing such a clear and comprehensive view of the Japanese policy framework, which will undoubtedly support Italgas in strengthening and enhancing its cooperation with leading Japanese companies. A special thank you also goes to the #EmbassyofItaly in Tokyo, whose dedication and assistance have significantly enriched our experience and outcomes in Japan.

Juniper Green Energy Secures Major PPAs with GUVNL and NTPC for 480 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects Juniper Green Energy has announced the signing of two significant Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for hybrid renewable energy projects totaling 480 MW capacity. The projects include: GUVNL Hybrid Phase 1: In collaboration with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), this initiative features 190 MW of hybrid capacity (140 MW solar and 50 MW wind) in Gujarat. It is expected to generate 412 million units (MUs) of electricity annually, offsetting 384,067 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The clean energy produced will cater to 82,016 households. Amazon Solar Commences Commissioning of 7.5 MWp Requena Solar Project in Loreto Amazon Solar has entered the commissioning phase of the Requena solar project, a 7.5 MWp installation that includes an energy storage system capable of offering 9.6 MWh. Located in the Buffer Zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, within the district and province of Requena, this project is poised to become the largest microgrid solar plus storage in Peru. A quick summary of the two mechanisms: Capacity Market Purpose: Provides long-term price signals for flexible capacity. Payments: Capacity payments awarded (€/MW premium). Price Control: Contains extreme price levels through price caps on power markets. Eligibility: Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are eligible, but shorter durations are impacted by high derating factors, and longer durations are currently undervalued. MACSE Purpose: Provides long-term price signals for electricity storage capacity buildout. Value Consideration: Long duration value is taken into account (€/MWh premium). Market Participation: Optimized by Terna for MACSE-backed storage capacity. Pricing Mechanism: Includes cap & floor MSD prices and exerts strong competitive pressure on MSD. Indexing: Prices are indexed to inflation.
