The Caviglia Year 2s performed with great enthusiasm in their class assembly entitled ‘SAVE OUR OCEANS’ educating the lower primary about plastic pollution in our oceans and rivers. 🐟♻️ They showed great confidence and knowledge in their presentation, engaging their audience with facts and statistics about the harmful effects of plastic pollution on marine life. They also emphasized the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling plastic to protect our oceans and environment. The students delivered their message with passion, touching on the current problems regarding plastic pollution as well as solutions that have been put in place, such as interceptors and sea bins, and outlining things that we can all do to help. 22 Future Leaders Awarded Nsouli Scholarships 🌟 We're delighted to announce that 22 exceptional students have been selected as Nsouli Scholars. These talented young people come from all corners of the globe and will be pursuing their education at our top schools in Spain, Italy, South Africa, Egypt, New Zealand, Brazil and the UK, starting next academic year. A large number of the scholars are from Palestine and were forced to abandon their education due to the horrific war in Gaza. They are all exceptional, talented students who through the Nsouli Scholars Programme will receive a world-class education in safety to ensure that they can go on to reach their full potential. The Nsouli Scholars programme students are chosen not only for academic excellence, but also for their talents in sports or the arts, and for demonstrating strong personal qualities like leadership and integrity. Inspired currently supports over 2,200 students with scholarships and bursaries annually across our 111 schools. Caviglia's Middle School students recently competed at the Volleyball Med Cup in Carole, Italy 🏐✨ They represented themselves and our school incredibly well. The Volleyball A-Team secured 4th place overall, while the B-Team achieved 3rd place in the Europa League Competition. This event provided a chance to compete against numerous international schools from across Europe, allowing our students to form lasting friendships and learn valuable lessons in adversity and resilience. Here at our Colonna Campus, we recently hosted our latest parental event in the form of 'Come Read With Me' 📖✨ Students had an opportunity to share their current favourite titles with other students and adults from across the school community. The event proved to be a brilliant opportunity to champion the teaching team’s vision of establishing a lifelong love of reading. Families were able to hear strategies shared by staff on how to engage in more purposeful book talk discussions and means to support children in choosing the stories they wish to read next. With the help of our Year 3 class teacher, Ms. Barrass, we were also able to launch our summer reading challenge - 'Bookopoly' - where the students are aiming to diversify the types of texts they are trying during their own private reading following suggested titles given on a monopoly board! #StLouisSchool #SLSColonna #Reading
