Let's discover the protagonist textile plant of September.   #Bananatex®. Bananatex® is the first durable technical fabric in the world, made exclusively from Abacá banana plants. Grown in the Philippine highlands within a natural ecosystem of sustainable agriculture and forestry, the plant is self-sustaining and requires no pesticides, fertilizers or heavy irrigation. From the abacà plants (Musa textilis), such a resistant fibre is obtained that traditionally it was used to make large ropes and today it is used to produce bags and clothing accessories. It is therefore not an "innovative" material in the strict sense of the term, but a "forgotten" material. We are very proud to sponsor #PordenoneLegge, the renowned literary festival that yearly animates Pordenone in September; it is an event that give value to book reading, to sharing ideas, to promote talent and to support young generations; over the years it has contributed to culturally enrich our community. For the event we created limited edition bookmarks, as a gift to the audience. The bookmarks are printed on Favini REFIT paper with 40% post-consumer recycled material and 15% of #wool or #cotton processing residues. This paper is produced using 100% hydroelectric energy self-produced by Favini . #FamilyDaySavio #BetterTogether 🌟Family Day 2024: a day of smiles, sharing and fun! 🌟 On Saturday 7 September we organised the first Savio Family Day, opening the company doors to our families. It was a day full of activities, games, laughter and unforgettable moments for young and adults; as well as a unique opportunity to strengthen bonds, share company values and spend time together outside of the workplace. This Family Day was a celebration of the unbreakable bond between Savio, its people and the territory: a special day not only because it allowed us to share the workplace with families and loved ones, but also because it represented an opportunity to see up close the future that Savio is building. The company therefore opened up to employees and their families: guided tours of the factory with a focus on new investment areas, showrooms with textile machines in operation, and activities designed for young and adults: textile labs and Vintage Lunapark. To make the day even more special, the outdoor area of the company was enriched by a Food & Drink area with a selection of typical local products. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of employees and their families, with more than 700 participants.
