Denise Diorio McVeigh and Andriana Kontovrakis are currently in Austin at the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) conference, connecting with household hazardous waste professionals dedicated to pollution prevention, product stewardship, and safe hazardous waste handling. On the trip they had the opportunity to tour the City of Austin’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection facility and a Goodwill of Central Texas facility that accepts textiles. 🤠 Did you know that Goodwill Industries International doesn’t landfill any textiles? Everything is either sorted for resale or recycled, ensuring nothing goes to waste. ♻️ What an incredible process to give items a second life!
