These 525 kV extruded submarine cable systems is meticulously designed to operate under extreme mechanical and electrical stresses and have been rigorously tested with large conductor cross-sections. Thanks to Prysmian installation capabilities, the HVDC cables can be installed in a single bundle, together with the Metallic Return and fibre optic cables. We are proud to announce that on September 26, at Innotrans 2024 in Berlin, we were named runner-up (#2) at the Railsponsible Supplier Awards 2024. The award acknowledges supplier performance in social and environmental practices and our success stems from two initiatives with Customers, namely Deutsche Bahn for our groundbreaking project utilizing recycled low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the train industry, and Alstom for our E Path initiative. Cristiana Scelza, EVP of Electrification at Prysmian said: “With the use of recycled PE in our cables we are taking a major step forward to help reducing plastic waste and energy consumption, while promoting a circular economy. Circularity is, as a matter of fact, one of the six measurable and recognized founding criteria of our E Path eco-labelling system tailored specifically for the cable industry. We are extremely proud of the acknowledgement of our ever-growing commitment for the planet coming from this award and by the appreciation shown by our Customers. Together, we can drive the transition towards a more circular economy”.

On Tuesday our CEO, Massimo Battaini, participated in the prestigious Made in Italy Summit 2024 hosted by Il Sole 24 Ore, Financial Times and Sky. This event is a significant platform for discussing the future of Italian industry, innovation, and sustainability. Massimo reflected on the decarbonisation drivers in the US and Europe shared his insight on how Prysmian’s innovation can help to make the energy transition achievable and economically sustainable.
