We have a pleasure to share the article about the activity “Parla Potabile” organized by the Young Minds PONYS. The 2-day event aimed to offer the people of Naples and many groups of school students and kids an extraordinary experience with scientific experiments, exhibits, shows, and games making physics as easy as ever before. One of the highlights was the "Quantum Game” developed by the IBM researchers, a cooperative board game based on quantum computation. It offers an interactive and educational experience, bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications. Another standout feature was this year’s special new game “AEON – The Emergence of life” which took the players to think at a whole different level. We are thrilled to see the positive reception of our recent activity “Parla Potabile”! 🎉 The two-day event was an incredible success, bringing the wonders of physics to the people of Naples, including numerous school students and kids in our community!

🎶Grande festa al... Dipartimento di fisica🎶 Dopo il grande successo a Parla Potabile, torna lo SLOW DATE SCIENTIFICO, il 5 LUGLIO DALLE 15:00 ALLE 17:30. L'evento si terrà lungo il piano inclinato, al dipartimento di Fisica (precisamente fuori la mensa dell'edificio di Biologia). Pensa a uno Speed Date, ma con professori, professoresse, ricercatori e ricercatrici pronti a rispondere a tutte le tue domande: dai tuoi interessi scientifici a consigli sul futuro di un fisico, senza la fretta dello "Speed". Durante le conversazioni informali con gli esperti, avrai modo di gustarti un delizioso aperitivo (alcolico e non). 🍹 Ma non è finita qui! Dopo ci sarà il CONCERTO SUL ❌TETTO❌ (SUL PIANO) ! Anche quest'anno celebriamo la fine del periodo di corsi con il nostro annuale CONCERTO SUL TETTO (che non sarà sul tetto!) L'evento inizierà alle 17:30 nel parcheggio antistante le aule 0M0. Avremo cibo, bevande e soprattutto musica. Non perderti l'opportunità di esibirsi al nostro iconico karaoke! 🎤🎶 Come tutti gli anni, abbiamo deciso di devolvere in beneficenza tutto il ricavato della festa. Quest'anno il destinatario sarà l'associazione Gazzella ONLUS che si occupa di inviare aiuti alla popolazione palestinese, vittima di un genocidio. Potrai contribuire attraverso un ticket di partecipazione (simbolico) e curiosando tra i nostri gadget 🍉 🌈 VI ASPETTIAMO!

Happy Pride Month from Optica! We’re proud to advance light science worldwide and celebrate the contributions the LGBTQ community makes to scientific discovery.

Following the award of the grant announced by Società Italiana di Fisica and SIOF for the International Day of Light 2024, we organized an event titled “Shedding Light on the Fast Lane: Exploring Ultra Short Light Pulses,” held on May 20, 2024, at the Department of Physics “Ettore Pancini” of the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, entirely dedicated to attosecond physics and ultrafast optics. The day involved about a hundred people, including undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students, researchers, and professors. The first half of the event featured a series of seminars focused on the theme of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics: attosecond physics and ultrafast optics! In the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to closely explore the developing technologies in the department's optical research laboratories. It was wonderful to have you with us to celebrate a brilliant Day of Light✨! ITA : In seguito all’assegnazione del bando indetto da SIF e SIOF per l’International Day of Light 2024, abbiamo organizzato un evento dal titolo “Shedding Light on the Fast Lane : Exploring Ultra Short Light Pulses”, tenutosi il 20 Maggio 2024 presso il Dipartimento di Fisica “Ettore Pancini” dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II e interamente dedicato alla fisica dell’attosecondo e all’ottica ultrafast. La giornata ha coinvolto un centinaio di persone, tra cui student* triennali, magistrali, dottorand*, ricercatori/ricercatrici e docenti. La prima metà dell'evento è stata dedicata a una serie di seminari incentrati sul tema del premio Nobel per la fisica 2023: la fisica dell'attosecondo, l’ottica ultrafast! Nel pomeriggio l* partecipant* hanno avuto la possibilità di scoprire da vicino, le tecnologie in sviluppo nei laboratori di ricerca di ottica del dipartimento.
