🎪 We attended the 7th International Conference on FoodOmics, omics technologies applied to food science. This great scientific event covers many topics ranging from food processing, upcycling of food side streams, including nutrients bioavailability and food fermentation. We had the chance to showcase two big project we are developing: 🥖 PIMENTO CA20128 to promote and enhance innovation of fermented foods; 🔎 TITAN Project EU to develop tools to improve transparency in the food supply chain. 🎪 We’re at #Probiota, the biggest international conference on probiotics. We’re glad to announce that Microbion joined the International Probiotics Association “The global voice of all-biotics”. Microbion provides a large range of services for the #probiotic industry, ranging from product development (strain selection and characterization) to quality control of manufacturing. 🔬 We joined IPA also in order to contribute to innovate and standardize analytical methods for live cells enumeration and quality control of pre-, pro-, post-biotics. 💡 We are delighted to get the chance to showcase our task in the TITAN Project EU dedicated to quality control of multi-strain probiotic products. We showing our results at poster n.20 in the Scientific Frontier. 🧬 We demonstrated that our patented HPME markers provide much more resolution of phylogenetically close related species, compared with standard 16S rRNA, and they also allow strain-specific recognition using the fast, standardizable and cost-effective NGS #metabarcoding approach. In this project, together with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore we are developing 2 analytical tools to check: ✅ the composition of products made with microbes such as probiotics, fermented foods and foods with bioprotective cultures; ⚠ the risks associated with spreforming microbial contaminants in plant-based long shelf-life products.
