Alongside the MSC Foundation and NatureMetrics, we’ve been collecting DNA samples from across our cruise routes and are using the information to map the diverse wildlife in our marine environment. So far, we’ve documented over 4,500 distinct species! The programme’s goal is to survey the marine ecosystem and provide a harmonised biodiversity data layer that will support informed decision-making for the benefit of both people and nature. The research is an important step in protecting the rich diversity of marine life and marine practice for generations to come.
