In the early 2000s, the second-generation MINI made its world debut as a result of the collaboration between BMW and Italdesign. For this iconic project, our company was required to: 🔹 Vehicle integration (geometrical and functional)  🔹 Product engineering (body and interior)  🔹 Supplier components integration  🔹 Vehicle virtual validation  🔹 Prototype build  🔹 Physical tests and vehicle validation  🔹 Vehicle release and SOP (start of production) assistance By leveraging a joint development platform shared by BMW staff, Italdesign and suppliers, we managed to harmonize diverse expertise from BMW’s German headquarters, our Italian engineering team, and the MINI production plant in Oxford. 🇨🇳 Italdesign takes part in the International Workshop on the Industrial Design of Railway Vehicles in Qingdao (China) with two members of our Industrial Design Team.  Corrado Becchio, Industrial Design Business Development Manager, and Enrico Lago, Industrial Design Team Leader, focused their presentation "When Technology Meets Human Needs" on #HumanCenteredDesign and #DigitalErgonomics, emphasizing the integration of advanced technology with human needs in modern railway transportation. The workshop serves as an important platform for global academic and industry exchange. It promotes the integration of innovative industrial design with high-end equipment. It is in line with our commitment to pioneer #sustainable and high-quality developments in the #railtransit industry. Initiated by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. and other leading organizations, this workshop aims to contribute new ideas, designs and solutions to create a sustainable, efficient and inclusive rail transit system. Italdesign is pleased to contribute to this important initiative, supporting the vision of a connected and sustainable future for global transportation.
