Due to an internal reorganisation, we are now aiming at incorporating a Regional Director for South and Southeast Asia. The selected candidate will report directly to the Management Team at HQs and will contribute to IRD’s activities,namely: *General corporate development in South and Southeast Asia. *Identification and follow up of business opportunities and procurement procedures and advising on the best possible commercial strategy. *Representation of the company in front of different public, private and international organisations. *Assistance in the preparation of technical and financial proposals. *Identification of and liaison with local partners and consultants. *Provision of all types of support and advice to assure contract acquisition and growth in the region. *Financial management and financial reporting to Headquarters. *Assistance in the recruitment and training of new staff. *Advice to IRD Engineering management team about strategic issues such as the setting up of local companies, penetration of markets, etc. *Punctual, regular and ad-hoc reporting to Headquarters. *Participating/leading project management activities for the current and future portfolio of projects in the region. *Negotiating and drafting contracts with all involved partners, subcontractors and consultants. Workshop for the Preparation of the National Road Safety Strategy in the Republic of Albania   Numerous stakeholders from Albania have gathered this morning during a workshop that aimed to discuss and agree on the methodology to be used for the preparation of a new national Road Safety Strategy.   On the occasion, members from Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the Albanian Road Authority, the Traffic Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as other relevant institutions, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the first draft of a comprehensive methodology for planning road safety interventions, for monitoring and evaluating results, for the assessment of shortcomings, and for the identification of necessary improvements.   Moreover, the event sought the involvement of all key road safety stakeholders in an assessment of their respective fields of responsibility within the national road safety system, working in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization Global Plan of Action.   This activity has been organized in the context of the project “Support for Road Sector Reform and Road Safety Strategy”, funded by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, managed by the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, and being implemented by a Consortium led by IRD Engineering, with SUEZ Consulting Engineering and DRI upravljanje investicij, Družba za razvoj infrastrukture, d. o. o. as partners.   IRD Engineering counts on a dedicated team of specialists for the provision of Technical Assistance and Capacity Building services to build, improve and maximize capacities in infrastructure planning, procurement, development, operation, and maintenance, by the expansion and strengthening of skills, resources, institutions and legal frameworks. Breakthrough of the Golubinja Tunnel, the longest in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a project supervised by IRD Engineering   A ceremony marking the breakthrough of the longest tunnel on Corridor Vc in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Golubinja tunnel (3,610 meters), was held this morning counting on the participation of the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Nermin Nikšić, the Acting Director of JP Autoceste FBiH , Mr. Denis Lasić, the Federal Minister of Transport and Communications, Mrs. Andrijana Katić, the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Adebayo Babajide, the Head of the Country Office of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Mrs. Sandrine Friscia, as well as senior representatives of the contractor Cengiz İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş and the Engineer, IRD Engineering.   The Golubinja Tunnel is part of the Poprikuše - Nemila section of the Pan European Corridor Vc, the main international transport corridor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all works are being supervised by IRD Engineering , “the Engineer” in accordance with FIDIC - International Federation of Consulting Engineers - Conditions of Contract - Yellow Book.   The construction of this section, with contracted works which amounts to 251 million euros plus VAT, is financed by loan agreements concluded with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), and with grants from the European Union (EU).   During the ceremony, Mr. Denis Lasić, Acting Director of the Public Company Autoceste FBiH declared: "This success is not accidental, but the result of all joint efforts of a hardworking team of our experts and all our partners. The completion of Corridor Vc is our strategic priority and we are working hard to connect the entire northern part of the Corridor, from Sarajevo to Sava, in the second half of 2026".   “For us, as the bank of the European Union, the construction of faster, safer and more modern traffic connections within Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the EU is one of our priorities. The Rožaje – Špiljani road in Montenegro, a project supervised by IRD Engineering, is officially open to traffic   An official ceremony has taken place to mark the opening to traffic of the Rožaje – Špiljani road in Montenegro. The event counted on the participation of the Prime Minister, Mr. Milojko Spajić, the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Mr. Filip Radulović, the Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Office in Montenegro, Mr. Remon Zakaria, the Director of the Transport Administration of Montenegro, Mr. Radomir Vuksanovic, and the President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Mr. Rahman Husović.   The project, which is located up to the border with the Republic of Serbia, involved the partial re-alignment and upgrading of a 20 km-long section of an existing two-laned road, which required widening with an additional lane at the border-crossing Dracenovac. It also included the reconstruction of 12 tunnels (approx. 1.7 km in total length) with drainage works and safety improvements.   The assignment is part of a wider program to reconstruct twelve sections (with a total length of 216 km) of Montenegro's main road network, in which IRD Engineering was awarded with a contract financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and aimed at the provision of supervision services during the reconstruction and upgrade of three sections (with a total length of 51 km), including the newly inaugurated one. The ultimate objective is the enhancement of road connections between the main international airports and the country's tourist destinations, as well as the facilitation of the flow of goods and tourists.   Mr. Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro, declared during the event: “The reconstruction of the road Rožaje - Špiljani will enable better connections between cities and will also improve the economic cooperation between Montenegro and Serbia. I believe that we can now count on a significantly higher flow of tourists and that this will have a great positive impact primarily on the economy of Rožaje, but also on the entire country’s.”   "I must emphasize that the work in this area will certainly not stop. Thanks to Motorways of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (JP Autoceste FBiH ) for this wonderful video of the section of Corridor Vc Poprikuse - Nemila The Trans-European Corridor Vc is the main international transport corridor in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its development is a strategic priority for the country. The road is part of the Western Balkans Core Network. It has been established as an extension of the Trans-European Transport Networks and will eventually link the Hungarian capital Budapest with the Croatian port of Ploce. IRD Engineering is carrying out the duties of “the Engineer” in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract, Yellow Book, for this section Poprikuse - Nemila. The project, promoted by Motorways of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the EBRD, aims at the delivery of design review and works supervision services for the construction of this 5.5 km-long motorway section what will include the Golubinja tunnel (length of tunnel tubes is TL1 = 3,659m and TD1 = 3,659m), two viaducts, and two bridges. IRD Engineering obtains the AFER certification to operate in the railway engineering sector in Romania   It was early 2022 when IRD Engineering started operating in Romania through a branch office in Bucharest and nowadays our teams in the country are providing engineering services for the construction of several important infrastructure projects.   Examples of our work are the supervision of works on the Autostrada A3, which connects Bucharest with Transylvania and the north-western region, on the Lot 2 of the Lugoj – Deva Motorway (Autostrada A1), which is the only missing part to complete the highway between Sibiu and the border with Hungary, on two sections of the Buzău – Focșani Motorway (Autostrada A7), and, more recently, on Lot 2 of the Sibiu-Pitești section, a motorway that will connect Central and Western Romania with the European highway network, being an important part of the Pan-European Corridor 4.   After all these initiatives in the road sector, and as an effort to diversify activities, IRD Engineering have just obtained the AFER Certification, a prerequisite to operate in the railway engineering domain. AFER is the Romanian Railway Authority (Autoritatea Feroviara Romana), the railway and subway technical body of the Romanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. IRD Engineering sponsor of the 5th Serbian Road Congress   The 5th Serbian Road Congress, which is taking place in Belgrade on 30th and 31st May 2024, is the most important professional event in the road sector in Serbia, and one of the most significant transport-related conferences in the whole region.   The main topics of the current edition, co-organized by JP "Putevi Srbije" - PE "Roads of Serbia", and in which IRD Engineering is a sponsor, are the new technologies in the planning and design of roads, the latest trends in the management, construction and maintenance of roads and structures and in the efficiency and safety of road traffic, ITS and new technologies in transport, and the integration of sustainable development and environmental protection issues in the road sector.   The State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Mihajlo Mišić, opened the Congress and greeted all participants, stating that fifteen highway routes are currently being constructed in the Republic of Serbia.    " Projects for Kraljevo - Novi Pazar, Požega - Kotroman, the extension of the Danube Corridor to Brza Palanka, and the design of Sector C of the Belgrade Bypass are being implemented. We also plan to open 46 km of the Moravian Corridor by the end of the year, to complete the expressway Šabac - Loznica, Sremska Rača - Kuzmin, and then the section from Pakovraće to Požega. Therefore currently, 642 km of highways are being built in Serbia, which is an impressive result," declared Mr. Mišić.   IRD Engineering is present in the Republic of Serbia since 2004.
